When I was out at Christmas ( a long time ago now ) there was a bar for sale in a little complex just down from Easyriders ( the complex across the road from the magicians show and has the Joy bar at the back that has some poles for the obvious ) any way I expressed an interest to one of the bar girls, she told the manageress ( I have used that particular bar for a few years now, you know the sort, have a few beers on the way down town few beers on the way back if not otherwise engaged ) and she told me that after April the bars are being knocked down and flats are going to be built on that site. Has the work started? I can imagine some one buying the bar that was for sale then being told 3 months later it's getting demolished. Go ting tong or what ?

Yes, those bars have all gone! Joy's has moved across to Drinking Street, beside Easyriders. Looks like a new condo is on the way up.

I don't know the location of "drinking street" or understand the terminology (i thought they were all drinking streets) Can anyone explain please

Its in bits ,a long way to go yet .

"Drinking Street" is a collection of bars on 2nd Road opposite Tiffany's and beside Easyriders! Also has a couple of restaurants in there as well.

So i ask again in plain english. has anyone got photo's of the demolition of the bars on soi 8?.

Sorry, did not take any photos but i was there all of march and 1/2 of april and can attest to it being there or not being there depending on your point of view.

Yesterday I passed Soi 8 and they now have advertisement sign for the to be constructed bars.

Think it will take another 3 months or so.

Anticipated that construction will be completed by early July.

Well, it has been a bit delayed but some bars are already open and the Cherry bar opens with a big party on Friday.

It'll be good to see the soi getting back to it's oldself again. I'll be going down there on friday to check it all out.
