Hello folks in the South!

I'm planning a trip to the National Parks that border Malaysia to see the Peat Swamp forests.

However I have heard that as of January 2008 there are road bombs in Yala and about 3 people being killed per day. I have also heard that insurgents have their camps right inside the Hala-Bala National Park!

Does anyone know the current situation in these two areas? Has safety improved? Is there still extreme danger in the region?

Thanks for any information!
