Minimum International Connection Times

Featured Replies

Hi All

First of, I appologise if this info has been posted already, however I did do a search and a quick browse through the latest boards, and couldn't find any information. I also find BKK's website very unhelpful.

My questions is, What is the minimum time you should allow inbetween international flights, if you are changing airlines?

I am looking at a flight arriving at 6am on Thai Airways, and then departing again at 9am on Qatar. Is this enough time to land, get luggage and re-checkin with a different airline. Will I have to go thought customs twice?

Apparently Qatar is open from 3 hours before the flight...

Thanks :o

I assume you are arriving on a domestic flight within Thailand.

I was faced with a similar situation and booked on their evening flight instead leaving at 20.30.

Flying to D.Muang on a 15.30 Thai airways flight, to allow for more time to get across to the main int.airport and check in without being rushed about.

Don,t know if this option is of any use to you, or indeed, if you can alter your arrangements to suit, but at least it,s a possible option to think about.

P.S.

Thanks for posting the 3 hour check in info as that allows me to relax the other side in the lounge after getting rid of my luggage. :o

I reckon you'll be ok if they check your bags through. Might cut it fine if you can't but probably still doable.. Depends on tickets and interline agreements etc.
