Bars For Parents

Featured Replies

My parents r coming to thailand for a holiday in the Summer and they will be staying in Pattaya for 7 nights. Can anybody recommend some nice bars to take them to for a few drinks, we are all staying at the Pattaya Marriott. No go-go's or anything like that

Thanks everyone

Blues Factory, live music with no hassle/ girls. :o

Hot Tuna on walking st is a nice open bar with a good band and you also have Gullivers etc. :D

The old shenanighans on second rd is good,i think its called mooores now.The new shenanighans is nice and also witherspoons on soi beukhow.the 2 english bars on soi 7 but you have to walk past a few girly bars, rosy ogradys and another one next doors..bottom of soi 7 onto beach rd and just before soi 8 you have we are the world bar and thats good.live music hosted by lisa who has a great voice.I try to find good bars for me and my gf and sometimes my stepson age 7 if its not too late.

Why not take them to the Floating restaurant in the bay. It can be reached at the far end of Walking St, where brightly lit TukTuks take you along the jetty to brightly lit boats that ferry you out to the floating restaurant. Food/Drink is good, entertainment a bit 'Eurovision' like, but a very different night out.Recommend the Kebabs!

99.9% of bars are suitable, obviously the location matters.

My parents (69 and 72 yrs old) came over Christmas, and we went to many bars where we know people. Some were in Sois 7 & 8, and it was amazing how much attention was heaped on them when introduced as my parents.

We went on walking street a couple of times to selected bars, but mostly was air-con food type places - Jamesons, Shennanigans, Mooore, Flannigans, etc, plus several restaurant-only nights out.

We didn't go to soi 6 however, as I thought that may have been pushing the boudaries a little too far :o

Recommended, my folks loved it. Food was so-so, but not as expensive as I had feared, but definitely a different evening out. Try a bit of squid fishing downstairs after your meal.

Try the Hopf House enclosed air con Beach Road soi 13. Food good, beer good, live music and one of the band burst into operatic type singing...if you like that its very good. :o

There is also the Caddy Shack Soi 17 enclosed air con, and round the corner from there the Highlander open bar very good toilets fans only which is off Thepprasit Road Soi 10. :D

These places are all hastle free!

Jameson's and it has the advantage that it's not near any beer bars / go-go bars so not as 'in your face' as the rest of Pattaya.

I think if ypu come with your parents, you can go to any bar, as long as you not move 3 m's away from them and not keep constant verbal contact. :o But the a.m. recommendations sound ok to me!

Queen Vic or Lord Nelson on Soi 6, take them through the back entrance if you are worried about the gauntlet in front. :o

What about the geezer birds at the back! :D ( I heard that one had actually mentioned your name :D )

Cheers Soi Pattayaland. Run by Colin the increasingly fat Welshman.

Quiz on Sunday nights.

Funfun has a point you worry to much, lots of folk are prepared to to watch the wildlife when on holidays. Take the folks to Funfun's bar at the begining of Soi 6 and watch the passing parade. A fun way to spend an hour or so.
