I want you to explain the hotel surcharge of having a guest in my room. It is not common anywhere I have visited in Thailnd excet Pattaya.

Just take you wife to your room and there is no surcharge :D

If you pay for other guests....hmmm....it is new to me that there is a surcharge, maybe except for the Marriott, Sheraton, Royal Cliff...

I have it on good authority that you can add The Montien (circa 800 Baht) to that list. :o

Going to say charging for double occupancy is quite common - remember sneaking into a hotel with my gear and spending night with a fetching aussie bird in Athens. Hotel reception was ringing and knocking on the doors to catch us out. Any rate got away with it, but charging extra certainly isnt new in the hotel business. As for Patters - most hotels don't apart for the more expensive ones and I dare say there are ways around that if you are that concerned about a fiver. :o

I've been taking taxis and buses to/from Pattaya for over 15 years now, and never been ripped off.

Ha Ha, Taxis ripping people off, never, Ha Ha,

Thanks for the laugh at work today.

Life in the office was getting a bit dull today.

Thanks for the giggle.
