thaigerd
Received my monthly water bill last Saturday. To our big surprise it says(in Thai): The next 6 months water will be for free until January 2009! Any one else the same??? Gerd
Tywais
There have been two or three posts on this tg. The government will be paying the bill to help the poorer folks due to the economic difficulties going on at the moment.

mgjackson69
Thanks for the heads-up...I will have to tell the wife to watch for this. Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much water consumption will increase in the second half of this year?

sweetchariot
There is some more info on a thread I started here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Free-Water-t...35#entry2137435 For Sepp here is my water bill I don't read Thai, but am reliably informed it is the script below the boxes that says it's free until Jan. I live in Pattaya BTW Edited August 11, 2008 by sweetchariot

Who was making a big deal about it? I think you will find that all the posters on here were expressing their surprise, and trying to obtain more info on the logic behind it. My bill is normally double that, so I probably won't get it for free next month, but I really couldn't give a sh1t either way, we were just having a discussion as to why. Having a bad day are we? I will be relaxing with a few free beers later whilst you stress yourself out about it.
thaibutty
I got my water bill over 500 Baht still no charge. GF says its free until 80 units a month. Same goes for Electric Bill.
