Hi All,

Me and the better half are planning to finally holiday in Thailand next spring/summer; having not been since last January. HISTORY:

Topically over the past 7 years we would go with at least one of my in-laws and stay in their house just inside greater Bankok where my wife's uncle lives whilst my in-laws live over here. Therefore we usually just 'chill' by going into Bangkok with my wife's uncle to shop, etc... and have a few mini breaks around beach locations such as Hua Hin or Koh Samet. Basically we have always had someone there to drive and/or advise on things.

TASK:

This time its all change as we intend to go and make our own way around plus go to new places. So I was hoping you guys (& girls) could provide some recomendations on where to go and what to do?

SITUATION:

Group size: Me, wify and our 4 year old (4 at planned time to go)

When & how long: Has to be 3wks during June/July 2009

Budget: low to medium (e.g 800 to 1200 GBP pure spending money)

Thinks that covers it all?

CURRENT PLAN 'OUTLINE':

Week One: Likely 'Down south' - to meet close family friends in Phattalung for a few days so 3/4 days to play with.

Week Two: Central region - completely open to suggestion

Week three: Chilled final week at family home in greater Bangkok but going into bangkok most days.

RESTRICTIONS:

Not too many granpa fa'rang walking around with their 'friends'

Phuket Vs Samui Vs Tao

Otherwise open to any suggestion

Try Kanchanaburi, west of Bangkok, 2-3 hours away, lots of history and things to do.

You could always go into my profile and there is a link (under Personal Statement) to "Thailand as I see it" :o over 2000 odd photos from around this great country.

Yours truly

Kan Win :D
