Recommedation For My Nov Chiang Mai Trip

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'll be heading to Chiang Mai and the nearby Provinces for 7 days during the Loy Krathong period for sightseeing.

I'm planning to visit Mae Hong Son for a couple of days as well. Anyone got any good recommendation with regards to the accomodation. My budget is around 500 baht or less.

Also, is it worth visiting Chiang Rai, Phayao or other places. Thanks alot!! :o

There are lots of places around for under 500 baht, but it is easiest to just walk around looking as there are lots that are side by side.

Yes, at that budget it's best to just go to an area with a lot of guesthouses / hotels and shop around.

Or check out travelfish.org for some ideas.

Thanks for the reply.

I'll try to get a car and cover as many places as I possibly can.

Wanted to tour around the golden triangle as well.

khop khun khrap!

If you go Niorth from Chiang Mai it is worth making it a circular route rather than re-tracing your steps.

Try the trip via Fang or Doi Saket one way and via Phayao the other. I like to stop at Phayao on the way back. See the White temple south of Chiang Rai, on the way to Phayao.
