I am looking to buy a European style kitchen so far looked in HomePro and Global and scared by rht prices ie about 400-500,000Bt

Anybody know other good places to check

Cheers

I bought my units from places at the .furniture village... 2 x 8ft floor units 1 with double drainer sink and a 5ft wall unit...cost me 18,000baht with formica tops.

Cant remember exactly where the village was but think SE of CM...many many manufacturers there and all kinds of furniture,I think many shops get theirs from this place.

I guess they will make you whatever you want to fit your kitchen and when they delivered they even installed. I was am still am very satisfied.

This is the bones of the thread mickmac refers to and was posted by blissfullyignorant and is superb. Search Homikitch is you want to review the entire thread:

Index (Index Living Mall, level 2) - cheaper end of town, the quality of their demo kitchens turns me off but still worth the effort if only for providing a comparative base. Discount available if fitting to a Land & Houses built home. Design crew speak zero English. Don't like you asking why the melamine is peeling off thier demos either

Modernform (super highway near Tesco) - upper end of town, proper fitted western kitchens with all the trimmings. Some very nice designs here. Design team are OK but slow, designs are only hand-dawn (roughly too!). Push them for a discount - 20-30% off their sticker prices makes them quite reasonable. Beware of exhorbinate fitting fees for your extras though (e.g. 3000B each to fit a hood, oven, sink etc). Also beware not to specifiy a composite benchtop - it'll cost as much as the kitchen itself..

SB Furniture (at Chiangmai Isaan Ban House on Aom Muang rd near the Ping river bridge, also @ HomePro) . The design consultant @ HomePro is excellent, not so much so @ Isaan. Speak to the owner of Isaan and you will get the best price no doubt, however even @ HomePro you'll manage 20%+ off sticker when pushed, and their consultant will work hard to make your kitchen fit your budget. If buying @ HomePro you'll probably get a bunch of freebies associated with HomePro "sticker" promotions as well. Installation crews come ex BKK and are thoroughly professional.

Starmark (HomePro) - upper end of town but with better sticker prices than Modernform. Some really nice & unique fittings/designs/finishes. Consultants are only so-so, so you'd better knoiw what you want. Big discount (40% ish) if you're fitting to a Land & Houses built home.

Homikitch (you know where it is) - lower to middle end of town. Incredibly expensive for what they are. Design team is OK, but slow as a wet week. Their more stylish designs are apparently not actually made in house - they come from another firm in BKK. Only reasonable if shopping for basic/cheap IMHO - their more desirable designs are at least 50-100% more expensive than any others listed here, in my experience.

Thai Contractors (Ban Tawai is a start, they're everywhere though) - IMHO, great if you want a full teak wood kitchen only. Quality varies, prices are usually reasonable. Do not expect the accessories, fit nor finish af the specialist places listed above. Their Western style designs (i.e. not teak) leave much to be desired on all fronts - cheap and nasty comes to mind here.

IMHO, a very knowledgeable post which took a huge amount of research.

I have been looking for the same thing myself. Check out www.boonthavorn.com/Eng/ They have 5 or 7 showrooms in thailand. Don't know the prices, but from what I can gather they have been around along time.

Another name I have come across is Acmen Kitchen Arena. But don't have any details on them except thay are on Sukimvit Road.

I had a modern style kitchen fitted and supplied by Homikitch back in December last year and was very satisfied with the quality of finish.

It is quite large with a length of 4.6Mtrs,Smeg dishwasher and Smeg touch contol 2 burner cooktop, glass splashbacks,2 pack finish and the cost was 162k Bht.This didn't include the granite top as they quoted nearly 20K bht and I was able to get one for about 12k.The only extra cost was a microwave/convection oven that i supplied.

All in all I was satisfied with the service provided and they were able to accomodate all of my design requests.

you can make western/european style kitchen in many ways depend on your time, budget, model and materials. I did it in my way follow my budget and the kitchen style that I like, the price also cheaper.

I just want to give some idea what I did that mostly I bought materials and ask some worker to make it.

1) have to know how big of the room that want to make kichen,

2) make the model that match with kitchen space (such as how high? how long? and how far from the wall? where will put the oven, sink, gas stove?

3) buy oven, sink and gas stove , so you will know exact the size of them

4) make basement and model of kichen with cement then can cover with the blicks or tiles what ever like you want

5) choose the top like you want (for me I went to the garnit shop and choose the price and colour like I want, then tell them the model and how many meter I need, they will come to the house for masure the exact size then cut the garnit follow the form (with space for put gas stove and sink), I paid 1,200 -1,300 baht per meter and all together 7,600 baht for garnit for 5 meters long and the price included worker.

6)for the cupboards I buy materials and pay only for worker (1,500 baht per each meter long and high 60 cm.)

The price for worker and garnite I paid less than 20,000 baht (not included other cement, woord, oven, sink, gas stove)

I also purchased kitchen cabinet from the company aacabinets.ca, it is made of the highest quality materials and has been serving me for many years.

This is a great price for such a kitchen. I think you made a great choice.

I understand that you can't remember exactly where Furniture Village is. However, if you can remember at least some details, I will be very grateful to you.

I think you are lucky to have found this furniture village. This is a great option for those who want to buy quality furniture at an affordable price.
