Hi could anyone please tell me the cost of a work permit IE-cost of getting one,do you have to pay every month and do you have to pay to renew it every 3 months when you do a visa run or is it valid for 1 year thanks.

a work permit costs 3100 bath , the renewal is 750 bath to match your allowed stay.

You pay labour when you first apply (750 THB) and then every time you renew. You renew every time you make a border run and get a 90 day stamp, in Phuket this costs 750 Baht. You also have a double renewal at the annual anniversary of your original issue. On these occasions you pay twice, once to the anniversary date (750 THB) and once to the expiry date of your current stamp (750 THB).

ok thanks whare do i go to renew and get a work permit my lawyers are asking for 16000b for the work permit and 3000b tax every month and 3500b to renew every time i do a visa run!thanks.

Your lawyers seem to want to take quite some margin.

Go to labour dept to renew (WP5 form) before the old permission expires.

Pay tax at the local tax office - find out your tax ID from them.

Pay national insurance at the local social security office (you will need your national Insurance card/number).
