Wrist Band Smelly Welly

Flummoxed

Recommended Posts

My monk issued wrist band serves to reming me of my sweetheart, who has an identical one issued by the same monk over a year ago and I like to think it brings me good luck...

... but boy oh boy does it stink! Despite regular and diligent scrubbing in the shower, it wiffs something rotten sometimes, particularly when it gets wet.

Any tips on avoiding this problem? How do the Thai's do it?

I wore one for over 3 years and just cut it off two weeks ago - my sense of smell isn't that good but I was told that it stank! :o

If you're anything like me your hand is substantially bigger than my wrist and if it fits your wrist then no way will it get over your hand, whereas my wife could slip hers off and on at will and chuck it in the washing machine or whatever.

p.s. no major tragedy has struck since I took it off :D

Never known any Thai to wear them for too long. My wife and kids usually cut theirs off after a few hours.

I don't see any problem with keeping them on for a long time but when it starts to smell then I think it's definately time for the snip.

I cut off my marriage sai sin the day after and kept them in my travel holdall for a while.

Maybe after you've washed them, try rubbing beeswax or other some water repellant stuff into them.

Wash the bugger on a hot wash, then throw it in the sun for a few hours.

******************

what is the thai equivalent of the "5 knuckle shuffler ?"

One euphemism translates into 5 fighting one

My thai is not very good but something along the lines of Ha Rung Nung

If you want a wank then Chuk Whow should be understood by most women.

this is strictly a personal view

so stay cool about it

me used to wear these stuff

until it rot away and drop off

while others around me are too polite

to tell me it stink

it does get itchy sometimes

and then

one day

i just cut it all away

and i didn't die from it yet

and my life goes on as like before

forget about such external stuff

after-all

if the buddha is in your heart

your body becomes the holy temple itself

there is no need for such stuff

throw it and be good in your

speech, thoughts and actions

that is enough

no bad karma...
