It's not so far from Bangkok, you could take Vibhavadu Rangsit-Phahonyothin and then indeed Rangsit - Nakhon nayok highway (305), it's on the right side comming from BKK. Not far from the intersection between Phahonyothing and 305.

DreamWorld is not in BKK

http://www.dreamworld-th.com/english/index.php

it is in PathumThani on Rangsit-nakhon nayok rd

isn't google a grand thing?

Pedant.

Saying it's not in Bangkok is like saying Richmond isnt in London. It isnt, but it is.

To the OP . . take the highway as if you were going to Don Muang. Come off the toll way at the tollbooth past Don Muang and keep driving under the highway. Look for the signs for Nakhon Nayak - Ransit 305 highway. You'll find yourself veering left to go over a flyover to turn right. It's the junction marked by Future Park Rangsit . .easy to spot. In fact, Dreamworld is signposted before the turnoff.

Keep on the 305 for around 4 km. It's on the right. Well signposted.

It's in the extended metropolis of Bangkok, but not technically Bangkok. Ram Intra is Siam Park I believe. Different amusement park.

Sorry JimJim and Bender (watch Futurerama?) But it just isn't in BKK, It is not too far from BKK though. I asked the partner where it was and response 1 was Pathum Thani and response 2 was close to Nakhon Nayok :o

It isn't pedantic as you are more than 1/2 hour out of BKK and there is no metropolis out there ... it is suburban not urban etc ..... as far as places in London go? Who cares :D

Yes, I know it's not in Bangkok. It's in the extended metropolis of Bangkok. Rangsit is not Bangkok but there's city all the way there. From Rangsit it's not too far and it's just right near the urban area. Anyway, I don't care either and we're splitting hairs.

Anyone know what days are quiet periods in Dreamworld when the queues are likely to be small? Or is it busy every day?

Dreamworld is a good place to be coming from IMO. Waste of time and money like all 'world class' attractions on offer here... Siam Ocean Ripoff etc etc.

The Dusit Zoo is nice but becareful of the wild protestors hanging around the area.

I thought it was ok and not expensive..

Something to be aware of, just after you enter, a guy with a camera will appear and sneak a picture of you.. Then as you leave, you will be offered a plate with your photo on it for about 400b.

you get that in loads of places, you don't have to be aware of it. There is no hassle to buy the plate at all, just smile at the camera!

Dreamworld is good and compared to the West is not a rip off. I've no idea what bbkjames means, whether he is for it or against it. If you have little kids they will love it and you don't get ripped off with the prices.

Steer well clear of Siam water park and it's appalling safety record!!

Didn't someone get hurt at Dreamworld (maybe it was the waterpark above?)or similar last year because of crappy maintenence? For the record, wasn't sure if the OP was a visitor or resident so my remark about visiting DW was really meant for someone here on a holiday. It's ok for kids but it's no Disney.

no, it was defiantely Siam water park with the accidents. I can't remember which way round it was, but there was an accident with the log flume where a pump failed so it went crashing into a barrier, with fatalities. There was also a water slide where a section just fell out and many kids were hurt. I'm sure it was on Childrens Day too. The owner, obviously racked with guilt. paid about 13,000 baht to the family of a dead woman and gave a lifetime pass to the park!! Then stated he couldn't maintain the park so would sell it. He should have been sent down for manslaughter.

Dreamworld is definately no disney! Great for residents though.
