Neck Pain

Featured Replies

Hi all,

will be back in LOS at the end of this month, Bangkok and Rayong.

I have had a sore neck periodily for 20 years,

went to a chiroprator and he gave me a contoured pillow,

seemed to work.

but the pain seems to be coming back more often, and the last month it has been constant though, not overly severe, but definatly annoying.

some times thai massage seems to work, sometimes not.

Any Ideas what it is, or where to go get it looked at.

Thanks, Chris.

Go get it imaged (x-ray/scanned) properly, could be all sorts of changes/injuries you should rule out first before resorting to the 'prod and guess' brigade.

thanks Phaethon, should any major hospital be able to do this?

Sorry I dont know simple things, but seldom see doctors, or go to hospitals.

Thanks Chris.

Yes, Bumrungrad is the obvious place for English spaekers with a healthy wallet :o , but taking the picture is only half the story, you need someone to assess/interpret it and communicate findings to you. So, hopefully, someone here will come up with a recommendation from personal local experience.

My back and neck problems have all been dealt with in the UK, so I'll be interested to hear of any experiences from BKK/LOS, just in case... :D

Try BNH Spine center-- website http://www.bnhspine.com/en/whatPain.asp

Doctors speak english well in the Spine Center.

Hi Chris,

My neck is often very sore for years. I had x-ray, scan, met specialists, chiropractors... I still pain, and except Ibuprofen, nothing releives me. If you find the cure for you, please, let me know !

Thanks,

Geroc

I also had neck pain which put me out for a week each time. Been going to Samitivej for 12 months still not right. Then I went to see a guy called Thomas, and Im feeling fantastic, best in years. He is the only foreign sports physiotherapist in Thailand, works on the cause, not the symptoms. Was a totally different approach to the hospitals here, which all made sense.

He is at Fitcorp Asia. 02 661 7900. They are in Sukhumvit 19, Ocean Tower 2.

Highly recommend him.

thanks for the replies,

many obvious things that I never thought of,( like x-rays)

I use glucosamine when my back goes out and works well,

will try it for my neck, (again never thought of it, too much drugs and whiskey as a kid)

Will try to post if and when I find what works.

Thanks again,

Chris
