Where To Buy A Snorkel Set Without Blowing My Budget

Featured Replies

Hello,

This should be an easy question. I'm looking to buy a snorkel set without blowing my budget. I just want a quality mask that isn't going to leak, and I want to spend less than a 1,000 baht. Where can I go? All the sports shops I've been to (Central, Jungceylon etc...) have been selling them for outrageous prices. Help?!

The <1000 baht end for both is really quite ropey... sure you can get it but really that few extra baht will make it so much more pleasurable.

You can get a good wide field of view snorkeling mask at about 1200 (but not in dive shops usually) and a mares 'stealth' for (at a guess) 600 or so.. The mares stealth is absolute the highest recommendation from me.. Self seals with hardly a drop ever getting in when you dive (it has a float sealing device) and a superb shotgun clearance.. Worth every baht.

The sports shop in central often has OK deals..

Try Aquamaster in Chalong en route to the Pier. They sell good value for money PSI Mask and Snorkel sets around 1000 baht per set.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up going to Central and buying 2 sets of the brand name you recommended. They seem like great quality masks, and they were only 850 baht. What a deal!!!

You can even get good quality masks in diveshops cheaper than that.

Whenever I look I dont find any desirable ones much cheaper.. There are some but nice wide field of view, good fit, etc etc etc..

Last one I got for 1200 in central and saw for 2600 in a few of the dive shops !!
