Heya Soloflyer

You mean on the Road behind Carefour .... Can you give me a landmark ..?? Chiang Mai roads and ares can be quite confusing sometimes...

Is it a big place or a small bar type of place....?

Thanks again

come out of the carpack at the back entrance and theiyr's a plaza with restaurants and cafe's just opposite to the right (dark coloured building); walk-through there and you'll find it near the courtyard area... not sure what it has and or what their times are - but there is definately a cigar lounge there.

Also, the CHEDI hotel sells Cubans.

Hi and thanks to both of you for the info......couldn't ocate the one behind Carrefour but maybe it was closed as was around 2 PM when I was there and many shops were closed ...

Got the Chedi info after and will check it out , but I found out that on the road behind the Night Market , just about where Pornping Hotel is, there is a small little stretch of shops and there is a wine / liquor store there that has a huge choice of cigars ....

I drove by but didn't have time to stop , but he has cigars cause they were displayed in the window :o

I found the cigar store behind Carrefour. I could barely make out the faded letters spelling "Wine and Cigars". The store has closed and packed up and is an empty shell now.

I stopped by The Chedi to watch some fireworks and lantern launching last night and dropped 1200 baht on a Montecristo #2.

Once upon a time a dear friend(RIP) got his at Villa Market in Bangkok. I have not a clue if you can get them there these days. Do recall seen some in a Tesco Lotus shopping center Khon Kane late 2006. My friend was the only one I knew that like the smelly old Cigars. Good Luck "HAPPY PUFFING"

shit, that only lasted a month. I thought it would do ok cause it looked to be bankrolled by some hi-so harley boys.

P. Chai has moved his shop to the new building near the corner of Chang Khlan Rd. & Si Donchai Rd. He's on the second floor. Went to his grand opening one week ago.

Which building is this? Is the shop still there?

I followed some of the other suggestions in this post. The place across from Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel only has a few cheap/old cigars. The lady was nice though and referred me to my next stop. Directly across from the Meridien Hotel on the night bazaar road, there is another small liquer/tobacco shop with a better selection, but they look like they've been boxed on the shelf forever. I went to the Chedi hotel (which is quite nice) and they have a small selection of high end cohiba and montecristo's. Quite pricey I thought, but they are well kept in a humidor unlike the other couple shops. Any other places worth checking before I fork out some cash? :)

I have noticed that there is a cigar box near the till in the coffee shop at the Mandarin Patisserie/coffee shop.

Hope this helps.

Sergio at Bulisimo Italian Restaurant (probably spelled wrong) used to have cigars of all the best types - kept in a humidor. I'm not a smoker, so not sure if he still sells them.

Sergio has some great cigars. Better than the Good Tastes place. There is a mediocre place on Charoen Prathet a little south of the Porn Ping Hotel on the same side of the road too.

This was a wine & cigar shop and it's shut down. Looks like it would have been pretty nice though.

After doing some searching, here are 3 places you might want to check out if you're looking for a cigar. This is by no means a comprehensive list as it sounds like various hotels and restaurants have small selections. I attached the locations in a Google Earth file that references these numbers.

1. This is a small liquor/tobacco shop right before the Pornping Tower. It's very clean, organized and it looks like they have turnover. Good selection of a wide range in quality cigars. All boxed though.

2. The Chedi Hotel has a handful of high end cigars. If you like the expensive stuff, just walk in and say "cigar".

3. This place is directly across from the Meridien hotel. It looks like the cigars have been on the shelf too long though.

Night Bazar, midway on the food court side near a pharmacy.

1200 for a Montecristo? Of all the vices you can buy here for that much money, you chose a cigar?
