The "market is healthy" (trademark). :D

actually,and precisely, it's 3,957 %. :D

With a little bit of cosmetic they managed to keep the psychological "4". Growth on Q1 was revised from 6,1 (revised a first time from... 6) to ... 6. :o

Anyway. It's a bad report. And Q4 is going to be much worse... Talk about a "booster" to start 2009.

Everything is in the cards since a few quarters already. But as usual, the daydreamers, the followers of the "stimulus" sect were, had to be overconfident.

Dust and dreams... 2009 is A DEAD YEAR as far as growth is concerned.

That's the harsh reality.

1.1 mn to lose jobs: FTI

By The Nation Mon, November 24, 2008 : Last updated 22:35 hours

Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)'s provincial units nationwide expect industrial plants to cut 1.1 million jobs in the first half of next year.

FTI's deputy secretarygeneral Sommat Khunset said that the figures are accumulated through the FTI units across the country. Workers in the electrical and electronic, automotive, and ceramic industries are at highest risks to lose their jobs.

"If this figure comes true, the number of unemployed workers would account for 12.4 per cent of total 9 million workforce in the industrial sector," he said.

2009 will be a bad year for Thailand (and most other countries) as the world wide economic slump, recession, whatever you want to call it continues to negatively impact Thai exports and domestic consumption which in-turn drives employment levels. Oh yea, and let's not forget the Thai political turmoil, tourism slump (being made worst by the protests), and real estate slump. I'm seeing the real world impact right here in Bangkok with my own eyes.

and those 1.1 million are not just going to sit at home as the economy worsens, sides will be chosen, mobs will form exponentially, frustration will rage and there will either be a civil war or a coup, either way, dark days are coming to LOS

I'm afraid so too. I wrote about that in this message; look at last paragraphs the bottom:
