A friend asked me to post this:

Are there any recommended neurologists in Sri Racha hospitals, particularly the PhayaThai (sp?) hospital?

Thanks,

There is no comparing the quality of care available in bangkok with that in Srui rach even when at affiliated hospitals. Unless the problem is very routyine (and problems requiring the services of a neurologist seldom are!) I would advise coming to Bangkok.

Neurologists have different areas of sub-specialization, if you want a suggestion as to whom to consult in Bkk please provide more information as to the type of problem.

Thanks Sheryl.

Yes, he is interested in knowing about neurologists at Bangkok's Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospital.

My friend suffers from continual right temple headaches; two asparin or two ibprofin tabs relieve the pain for up to 8 hours - he is reluctant to take more than four tabs a day. He has done some tests here in Pattaya (Carotid Artery ultrasound, and others I don't remember). There was no firm diagnosis and now, after more than eight months with no improvement, he wants to speak to the best doctors available.

Hope this gives you more to go on.

There is a dedicated Headache Clinic at Chulanghorn but being a government hospital, not user friendly for anyone and especially not for a foriegner. However one of their Assoc. Profs, DR. ANAN SRIKIATKHACHORN has private hours at the Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital Wednesdays 5-6 PM. He has done and published research on headache, I'd try him first.

There is a also a special Headache clinic at Bangkok Hospital Neuroscience Center, I don't know the names of the docs but can contact [email protected]

Your friend should bring with him all test results to avoid unnecessary repeat tests. There may still be a need for more tests, though. Forst step is to find out what is causing this or at least rule out all the serious possibilities.

if it turns out to be just a "functional"headache he should ask about whether or not botex injections would help.
