Could anyone give me the contact for a rental company/person that has decent convertable cars for rent?

Have some family over in the new year and wanted to treat them. Merc sports, MX5, or one of those novelty custom jobbies. Last resort will be a Jeep as long as it hasnt been painted bright pink or some other gahstly colour and cheesed up to the max.

Thanks in advance

Be careful with using a convertible in Thailand.

You will burn alive before you know it. :o

And so far i now you can't rent that kind of convertible's in Phuket because almost nobody wants them.

That's way, you almost don't see convertible's in Phuket. ( except for those jeeps for crazy tourists :D )

Also BMW and Benz. Although very few travel with top down. As long as no rain I have top down. Thais all think I'm crazy (too hot), even heard a few Farangs remark about the stupidity of driving in the sun. If it's that bad a put on my sun hat. Just last week we travelled from Cha-am to Phuket top down. Turned a lot of Thai heads.... :o

I doubt you can hire a convertible, you'll have to make do with one a the crappy big fun jeeps.

I thought Nicky sold most of his foreign car collection ... ??

I wish I had a convertible in thailand, its the Ideal place/weather to drive one?! its really the same thing as driving a motorbike when you think about it. I have never come across anywhere that rents them though. I always cringe when I see the big 4X4 Jeep with the lift kit, and painted lime green or something, jam packed with whiteskinned tourists, always puts a smile on my face!

Along with trailers, I have often wondered why you don't see too many of them here in Thailand. I am from Houston in the States and a little top down in moderation there is a nice. When I drove my wife in a rented 3 series convertible she didn't know what to think about it, but admitted she liked it after the fact.

Sorry I can't help you, hopefully you find something, pass it along if you do.

Just a bit late there Digitalman, but yeah OP, how'd you get on?

We didn't end up getting one - Firstly I couldn't find one in time - Secondly when my relatives got here they were sh1t scared of the roads, so I was the dedicated driver! :o

Thanks for the info - will look into it for next time ( if they still aren't scared!)

P.S Nice choice of car with the Tuscan. Is the ' s " for sport or more than one? :o
