Mushroom Farming

Featured Replies

I have been farming mushrooms for a while now but the unit cost of buying in the mushroom bags and the quality of such leaves a lot to be desired. The majority I have bought in all seem to come complete with the full range of favourite bugs and insects which should have been killed off when steaming.

:o

I have decided to go the hydrogen peroxide route but need a low pressure steamer which has a range between 55c and 65c.

Does anyone have any ideas about making one (must take about 30 - 50 bottles a time) or where I could buy one assuming the price is not prohibitive?

I live near Korat just in case someone in Phuket has one!!! :D

Hello nobber9999, have you looked through any Thai ag Magazines for your needs? There are adds for all kinds of equipment from bottle cappers to stills. I have also seen Thai mags how-to on mushrooms(Bt.50).

I don't have a map handy, but some sterilizing equipment is down the street 100M(west side of the street heading south) from the side door of Tool Pro. Tool Pro is in the N.E. corner of the city moat, just look for the tallest building, the side door of door of T-P opens to that building. It sales medical equipment, chemicals, and glass ware, did see a large pressure cooker one time (5-gal), the poor mans autoclave.

If you want to just modify some pots and things, going W. about 5-6 blocks before you get to The Mall, on the S. W. corner is a custom sheet metal fab shop that I've seen them make of modify S.S. pots(10-50 gal), tanks and other parts for food processing.

You might call HVAC Engineering Corp. LTD. 02-9810160-3 and see if they have anything or where to look.
