Wrong section. But yes, you can apply for a non-immigrant visa based on your marriage with a Thai national. You need to show the marriage cewrtificate and a copy of your wife's ID-card. it is nice, but not strictly necesarry, to have a not from the misses asking for a visa for you.

Don't know about the particulairs of the Thai Embassy in Vietnam.

Yes you can get a single entry non-o visa from most nearby consulates.

You will need a copy of your marriage certificate (both sides), your wifes ID card and house book.

Is there any particular reason you chose Vietnam to get your visa. Vientiane Laos is much closer.

Edit: I haven't been able to find any info on getting a non-o there. Here is link to there website. I tried to open the Non-o file but Adobe says it's broken. http://www.thaiconsulatehochiminh.com/list.aspx?typeid=80

It's Ok, I got my Visa. It's Non-Im 0, Multi entries valid 1 year! Very easy. I only gave, 1 photo, my married certificate signed from my wife, copy of my wife's ID and Passport, copy+sign my wife's house registration, copy of my passport. And I had 2 choices: 65$ for single entry OR 175 $ for Multi.Next day I went and picked my Visa! Don't need Bank acount, map of the house, nothing else. Very easy. Only every 90 days I only need to go out and back to the country and I get again 90 days. Finaly the Thai Consulates in Ho Chi Minh City is very good. You can get any type of Visa you want. I only want to ask, when my visa finish, next March, what do I have to do to get the same? Can I get the same? Can I stay 90 more days (15 month total) with this visa I have now? Or I have problem and I have to leave the country?

If you leave/return just before the visa expires you can stay another 90 days. So good for almost 15 months. Then you can probably get again but best to check where just prior to the time as conditions sometimes change.

Thanks for the follow-up post. It will help others.

So before my Visa finish on 10th March 2010, I leave from the country and I back I can get an other 90 days! Ok? For example if i leave 5th of March and I return 8th March. Is it ok? Still can get 90 days? After that I have to ask ehh? Please if anybody have done the same, can tell me how can I get next year the same type of Visa? Thank you.

Ahh! In Vietnam don't forget 2 things, you must pay only in US $, not acceptet any other currencies. And all your documents must be signed from your wifes!

Yes that is how it works. I mentioned asking which Consulate currently is good for issue of multi entry non immigrant visas - sometimes one will do easily and another will want extra paperwork and another will not issue to anyone. That is why feedback here is so important.

I believe you may have a problem obtaining another multi entry visa as currently the only Consulate that seems to provide for a standard set of documents in the local area is KL and they require copy of wife ID card and home register as well as proof of 100k or more in bank account. Perth in Oz is the closest place we have reports that will issue without financial proof. Let us know how it works out. I suspect it may only be a single entry from HCM City.

Hi. How can you be sure about it? Does anybody went for multi and get only single before? Last year I did it with not problem, they gave me the visa form and asked me to choose if I want single (65 USD) or multi (175 USD) and with out show any bank account. Only wifes home register, married certificate, wifes passport and ID copy. Thats all. Next day I had my visa. Only every 90 days must go out. Can you let me know please if have changed anything in Ho Chi Minch City?

We do not see many reports for HCMC. Would suggest you give the consulate a call to check their current requirements, as in the last year there has been a general tightening up of visa issue requirements within the region. Let us know how you get on.

Anyway, I already bought my tickets. I will go and see what will happen. I need holliday anyway. You talked about Kuala Lampur, do you mean that with 100.000 baht in my personal bank account can get NON-O multi entries or 1 year without need go out of the country every 90 days? Please let me know, so I go to do there next time. Also if I have 400.000 baht which consulate do I have to go? Cambodia or Laos or Malaysia? Or must do it in Greece (my country)? Thank you

100k in KL and marriage to a Thai can get a one year multi entry non immigrant O visa. You have to make 90 day visa trips.

400k in Thai bank account 2 months you can obtain a one year extension of stay from an Immigration office inside Thailand (not from any Consulate/Embassy).
