Hi,

Does anyone know if you can the fee (£515 !!) for a Spouse visa by Credit Card or does it have to be cash?

If you apply online you can't pay online if applying from Thailand.

This is from their site,

From http://www.vfs-uk-th.com/visafees.aspx

Note:

  • Dependants are charged the same fee as the main applicant. All dependants who are traveling must pay the fee whether or not they are included in the main applicant's passport.
  • Fees are payable in Thai Baht payable to "British Embassy, Bangkok" and are subject to periodic review. Applicant has the option of purchasing :
  • A 'Cashiers Cheque'or 'Bankers Draft' from ANY BANK in Bangkok,
  • A 'Cashiers Cheque' from any of the 25 select branches of the Bank of Ayudhya that offers the free surcharge option
  • A 'Bankers Draft' from any Branch of the Bank of Ayudhya located out of Bangkok city that is not listed in the 25 select list of branches
  • A 'Bankers draft' from any Bank in Thailand that is located out of Bangkok city
  • Applicants can avail of the Surcharge Free option on Cashier cheques purchased from 25 selected branches of Bank of Ayudhya.
  • Visa fees are non-refundable but if a payment has been made and the application is not submitted or if the applicant refuses to provide biometrics details with their application, then we will refund the fee.

I suppose you could use a Credit Card to purchase the Bankers Draft?
