Heard some vague reports it can happen but I can't see how with a valid settlement visa+passport,enough english(and knowledge of me) and a upto date TB document.

It's not something either of you need to worry about, the visa was issued by the Entry Clearance Officer and that's exactly what they have done - clear your wife for entry into the UK.

Whilst they always say that a visa does not guarantee entry, entry cannot be refused unless there has been a material change in circumstances since the visa was issued or there is compelling evidence that the entry clearance was fraudulently obtained. So unless your wife falls into either of these categories she will have no problems whatsoever. For an Immigration Officer to refused entry they must have compelling evidence and be able to convince a superior officer of their concerns.

As you say your wife will have her passport and visa and an updated TB certificate, as well as sufficient proficiency and knowledge of your good self to answer any questions the IO might pose, that's all she needs - tell her not to worry.

All that now remains is for her to sit back, relax, enjoy the flight and enjoy your new lives together.

Sorry guys just found this thread, We submitted our application on the 27th May, visa was issued this morning.. I think thats a pretty quick time compared to some others waiting, The misses said lots of people there when she collected the visa, Many had been refused..

It may be some help to others to know i am self employed, had only 3 months bank statments, a letter from my parents to say we can live there. I had been living in Thailand for 7 years before that and married for 5 years, only came home in March and started working for myself, a bit of building work..

So it goes to show that every case is looked apon as different, and there is hope for everyone.

Keep your chin up and all should be fine... Looks like they are speeding up the process now... Good luck everyone.

Did you use an agent or did you put your info in yourself?

We did all the forms ourselves, We had been planning it for a few months and spent plenty of time researching everything.

Had just a few bank statments from me and a letter from the parents stating my wife can live here, She has some money saved in her account so supplied her statment aswell.

Handed it in with lots of photos of us and our wedding going back 5 years and photos of my wife with my family when they came to visit, letters from all my family (brothers etc) saying they would surpport us aswell if the need ever came, So we would not have to rely on goverment funding, along with thier bank statements, and a copy of the house deeds from my father showing there is plenty of room in a 6 bedroom home.

Handed it all in with the cash and prayed alot to ying mo.

Went to the temple alot for my wife and got a result.. Now i am still reading this as i am praying for everyone else who is waiting as i know how it feels and i wish you all the very best...

I collect my wife in 2 days then the experience really starts, I hope all those waiting will have the same result very very soon.

Looks that way. The Mrs' sister submitted her Visit visa on Tuesday and she was told about two weeks wait. A couple of months ago this 4-6 weeks.

Sorry Chewy, I did read your troubles, I do hope they get thier act together and get your misses a visa sorted soon, It's an outrage the amount of time you have been waiting.

Just an update, had a phone call from the embassy on Tuesday 4th but the girlfriend could not talk as was at work and asked if she could call back after midday, it's now thursday night and still no call back. Tried calling the embassy but they can't put me through as they are not sure which member of staff called. Emailed VFS and to their credit they have forwarded my email on to the embassy visa department from their own email so hopefully will get a reply quickly.

Touch wood the call was just to organise an interview but you would of thought they would of called back that day if they say they are going to

Chewy it must be so frustrating and anger-inducing to see many people get processed while you still wait. I just don't understand what is going on with your application. Surely they must have lost it!

I remember doing an immigration application for an employee in the UK years ago and the Immigration department took so long and everytime they said they were waiting for something and then after countless calls they admitted that they had lost it! I enquired as to what happens and they said that they will do a 'sweep' of the building (sounds like a normal occurence in there) and they will find it 11 am Tuesday - actual words! I don't understand how something can be lost but then they know to the minute when it will be found but there you go!

Just thinking that maybe this is what has happened......I'm very sure it's in your mind too!

I wish you the best with getting this disgraceful situation resolved ASAP.

My first reaction was are you sure Chew?

Know what you mean about the nerves. Fingers crossed. If I was the ECM I'd be putting a personal apology with an explanantion in the passport too. Bet this does not happen. Good luck.
