They still do multi "O"'s. I got mine just last month. But i have EP (work permit) in singapore.

So at least singpore citizens, permanent residents and EP holders will still get it as usual. For others maybe they are enforcing "apply at your home country" rule ?

There is no 'apply in home country rule' for anything but OA long stay visa. Singapore was using a unique criteria for issue of visas and expect either a change of personal or MFA level request to cease has changed there game plan. They now seem to be one of the hardest places in the area to obtain a multi entry visa (at the same time that most other places have become easier).

I found it much easier this year than last year in Singapore. No questions asked, no que. But then again, maybe i was just lucky.

This time i was fully prepared with all my doc's in order though.

On top of my head, i submitted following:

- application form + photo

- passport and copies (EP stamp pages included)

- copy of singapore EP card

- Wife's ID, PP and house book copies signed by her

- copies of marriage cert and the "contract" that comes with the cert

- print out from internet bank to show 400k in overseas account

- copy of thai bank book having way less than 100k in it but showing some movement in and out

- flight ticket copy SIN - BKK one way

Same malay lady behind the counter as usual and very friendly service. She took the papers and after quick check asked "for one year right?". After me replying "yes" she took the payment, gave me a smile and "see you tomorrow". It all took less than a minute at the embassy.

Last year it was all mayhem with long que's and loads of people with incomplete doc's, asking to get their visas in same day etc etc... So my guess is that they just refused some visas and were difficult for a while to reduce their workload to more manageable level. And it seems it has worked wonders :o

Yes; but you have local status and nobody else is using that Consulate anymore because others offer better service now. Most people needing a visa for Thailand do not have Singapore EP cards.
