Yesterday, I disocvered jobtopgun.com . Their selection of vacancies posted this month is the best I've ever seen in Thailand in terms of diversity and quality of employers. Most of the jobs are for Thais who speak English, but there are opportunities for foreigners.

Avoid the super resume submission and just scan the ads, applying directly for positions you think are suitable.

Depends on how quickly you drink, I suppose. AT least SIA has good food and in-flight service, but that's a poor excuse for living and working in Singapore.

Hi,

I lived there for a year.  Singapore is a fantastic place to live.  You can work in Singapore during the week, and be in a bar in Bangkok before 9.00 PM on the weekend.

Plus, the people are friendly, the place is english speaking, the currency is strong, there are well paid jobs, etc.

I would highly reccomend singapore to anyone.

Plus flights are cheap.  You can go to singapore for under 300 SGD return from thailand.

Well, Singapore's economy is not at its best, right now.

Everybody in Singapore just got a pay cut of 3% a few weeks ago (it's not technically a pay cut, it's only your employer contribution to your saving ...).

As for well paid jobs, yes, compare to Thailand ... but life is a bit more expensive ... and the well paid job are now more difficult to get.

Hi bart,

To get a job in Singapore, a good place to start would be through an agency like robert walters (website www.robertwalters.com -  I can give you the number via private message or email.

The problem with IT in Singapore, is that there is alot of competition from India.  This is especially the case in Singapore where Indian IT contractors earn 3500-5000 SGD per month.

Some people earning alot more than this.

Getting a visa is no problem.  The company will sponser you.  Don't worry if the add says singaporeans only.  Apply anyways.

Jobsdb and monster.com.sg might also be good doors of entry.

The jobs market is not good right now worldwide.  I think UK is still good, with unemployment below 5% and thailand should be good.  Its economy is doing well.

Financial services industry currently not hiring much.  This is causing alot of problems.

Rates of pay seem to have dropped to.  I experienced a 35% drop in pay in the last year.

Thanks kwiz117, jobsdb.com is a good site for finding work in Thailand. In fact, it's much better than jobtopgun.com and there are more vacancies suitable for foreigners. The more of us that use this site, the beter it should get.

Why bother working in Thailand?

You can earn alot more in Europe as a network specialist. With the money you can buy a giant house in thailand for your wife and kids.

Plus, sure is nice to come down to thailand with a wad of Euros.
