There is a lot of research on gene thrapy for cancer and other diseases but nothing AFAIK ready for general use; still in clinical trial stages and it should be noted that serious side effects, including some deaths, have been linked to these treatments.

I am not clear on what, exactly, this hospital is doing so cannot comment specifically on it. but as far as I am aware there are no genetic therapies approved for general use in cancer treatment yet....
