It depends upon the school. They have to provide the documents for the visa or extension.

Some Thai langquage schools only requie 4 hours of study a week to get an extension.

Seems like you would have no problem getting an education visa. But note that on a education visa you can not work. If that is the reason you want to study part-time better get a non-B.
