Blackandwhite
I want ot buy some furniture for my house in Buriram. Any ideas on price of the nice double bed you see in some of the roadside shops, the wood is a red wood type and they are very glossy. Also nice table and chairs 6 set. Any info would be good Cheers

croftrobin
If you are in Buriram -chances are you will do your visa run at Chong Chom (the border crossing in Surin Province) So when you make your visa run trip - make the trip to Chong Chom with your pick-up Park 100 metres from the border Exit Thailand - go to Cambodian immigration office- (make sure you have a photograph with you) - pay 1000 Baht for Cambodian visa- this is done at the side of the building through a window Go to the desk at the front and put 100 Baht in the passport for coffee money - they will ask for more - just say that you checked with Phnom Phen and they say that no fee is due for stamping passport so you are giving them a coffee treat! They stamp you in - say you are going shopping otherwise they stamp you out at the same time! travel by motorbike taxi - 5Baht down the hill past the casino to the little shop town there. Purchase your wooden bed/ dinner tabe/ chairs there - You will easliy save 3 or 4 thousand baht on the price in Thailand- The Cambodians will drive the furniture up to the border for free Stamp your passport out of cambodida - pay import duty - @ 27% (or largish tea money -500B !) on the thai side - best to have wife or girlfriend do this and walk over the border 5 minutes later. Stamp your passport out of cambodida Pay a few guys on the thai side to load for you 9@50Baht) and you are set to drive home!

samuisam
I finally found a mattress wholesaler on Koh Samui - in the town of Wat Anon where they had fantastic latex foam mattresses for about 3,500 Baht. In America these would cost $700 USD! It was an odd place - shack, really, but they supplied all the beds for the hotels on the Island. These were far superior to any mattresses I had seen anywhere else.
