Golden Gate Hospital, Korat

Featured Replies

Hi there I hope someone can help

Does anyone have any experience of the Golden Gate (aka Charoem Chai) hospital in Korat?

Reason being is that I have a friend there and I want to make sure she's getting the best treatment at a decent hopsital as opposed to the 30 baht hospitals that have consistently failed her!

I did try to persuade her to go to the Bangkok Ratchisima hospital or St Mary's but her family took her to Golden Gate instead

I've done the usual searches on the web but found nothing apart from address & phone numbers

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

The doctor she sees will make the difference not the hospital. I have used St. Mary's and let me tell you they have both good and bad doctors.

Also relevant what the nature of the problem is.

Small private hospitals usually have limitesd range of specialists, whcih may not matter a bit if it is a common medical problem but cna be a serious liability of it is a hgihly specialized problem.

Yes, the doctor is the most important.

As for the hospitals in Khorat:

There are 3 good hospitals, Bangkok Ratchasima Hospital (western standard, very expensive), St Mary (good, but not as sophisticated as Bangkok Hospital), and Fort Suranaree Hospital (medical standard is similar to Bangkok Hospital, not expensive).

Personally, I would rather have a private room in Maharat Hospital than stay in Golden Gate Hospital, but it really depends on the patient's condition and the doctor.
