Ed Visa Question....

I have a one year single entry ED visa which requires reporting every 3 months. I have to leave the country. Is it possible to get a reentry stamp at the embassy in Canada? I have been waiting for papers from the school to do it here, but it appears they will not arrive in time so my 3 month reporting period will be expired by the time I return.

Get a re-entry permit before you leave. You will lose your ED Visa if you don't. No Re-Entry permits are issued outside of Thailand. Where is your nearest Immigration Office?

get down to Suan Phlu soonest and get it done there.

Don't rely on others to do it, it only takes a day at the most.

I am in chiang mai. I have been waiting for the school to give me the required papers to take to immigration for the 3 month reporting, but time is running out. My current 3 month report expires june 13th and I leave for canada on june 9th and return july 5.

Isn't a reentry stamp useless unless I get a new 3 month report and extension?

You don't need any paperwork from the school to get a re-entry permit.

Just your passport a TM8 form filled out, 1 photo and 1000 baht.

If I get the reentry stamp can I continue with the ED visa when I return even though the current 3 months will be expired june 13th?

You need to get the extension before you leave (it's not a visa). The re-entry permit is only valid for the amount of time you have left on your extension.
