Mobi
It's been reported and discussed on BBC radio. They quote Thai Police as the source of their news. Jonathan Head is currently being interviewed on BBC Radio. He was in BKK for some filming. He was 72. He was found in a wardrobe with string round his neck. No other details at present Edited June 4, 2009 by Mobi
MeetJohnDoe
OMG...I loved Kung <deleted> Lets not jump to conclusions...as usual, the Thai press likely got it wrong...reports in Western sources (quoting his manager) state it was natural causes [http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/entertainment&id=6847033&rss=rss-wabc-article-6847033]. Maybe he was under higher than normal stress while conducting "interviews" for the movie's Thai extras Whatever the cause...peace brother Caine I seek not to know all the answers...but to understand the questions... sbk
Posts have been deleted, the man is dead and his friends and family are grieving. Spee
He came from a very succesful family and he really was a fcukup. Yes, he did a few things that worked, but Kung <deleted> was considered a joke for a long time and there must have been a lot of years that he was doing nothing and just focused on the negatives. All I can say is that I am sorry, but I am not really surprised. A little harsh, IMHO. Bruce Lee had the original idea for "Kung <deleted>" with himself in the lead role. For the time and environment that was the early 70's, my high school years, the "Kung <deleted>" that came to the small screen and Carradine's portrayal of Caine were spot on casting, hip and cool. He was a good actor and a successful one. So please, can we leave the opinions on perceived personal flaws out of it? Those things are better left to his family and his maker for final judgment. dam_n sad way to see a life come to an end. May he find peace in the next life. Pash
This is all about David carradine an actor who killed himself in Bangkok while shooting a movie. Why malign him? At 72 he has had a reasonable life and we don't know why he killed himself. Maybe he was despondent after a BG ripped him off or told him "I love you Long Time". Remember he was an actor not a martial artist even though after Kung <deleted> the TV show he was typecast a lot. Do not confuse "Circle of Iron" with Linda Lee's memoirs published much later. Plus: How many roundhouse kicks did Kung <deleted> use? It was not until current times ( last 20 - 25 years) that Karate and other martial arts started to incorporate the roundhouse and other high kicks. As you would know Karate (Do) means empty hands and that was the training emphasis without change until the evolution of martial arts in the '80's. LaReina
I want more proof he killed himself. Things were still going strong for him acting wise and though he was getting old he was in good health. And why would he kill himself in Bangkok? Something is fishy. I'm with you.. doesnt one have to be a midget to hang themselves in a CLOSET! It is not like the bar is ceiling height. ANd then the hangers bump on the back wall sometimes, so then how uncomfortable would it be to hang yourself in a CLOSET! Who has ever heard of someone doing that. Then why would you do it half naked?? and ohh was the closet door closed when the maid found him?? Besides, you fly down to bangkok where money buys everything.. you are a big star, albeit old, but famous none-the-less people are fawning over you, you are here for a movie... and you get depressed and hang yourself in a closet.. No.. way.. jose..
