chlear909 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 All you guys seem to be missing the main point.Obviously people will continue to do drugs, but before you were safe if you were doing in your room, behind closed doors and did not go to disco, now even that is being made into a problem. Not only that, but it makes you think twice about what else they will come up with during the low times to extort money sorry but when i was younger and stupid back in 1995 i used to hang out with a high ranking police officer who smoke ganja and yabaa ( back then called ya maa ) and even him was putting up joss sticks ( incense) and towels under the door before lightning up a "fatty" or chasing the dragon ... it has NEVER been safe to smoke or do anything illegal in your room even as a policeman hey thats true and i am a police man ,actually just an mp in the army,we double up with aerosol room freshener also tho here in hawaii barracks
thaibkk Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 don't they grow this stuff over here ? clear setup as why or who knows what people do in their privacy ? jealous bust boy in the hotel ? they were not selling it in the pub / disco ... girl secretly went to call police when she saw she would be threated to 3 hot italian sausages instead of one with nothing to steal ?
rinpoche Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 3 Italian men, Thai woman arrested at drug party in PattayaThai law forbid the use of drugs and if you want to use you must understand something bad can happen... Up to you but if something happen after don't go cry and say why ? why me ? what i did ? Think before you do... Sorry for my english but is not my mother tongue. I don't think you understand the postings here. They are not sympathising with the guys for commiting a crime. They are speculating that the 3 guys might be "innocent" sex tourists who got set up by a hooker and the corrupt police. English isn't my mother tongue either.
seri thai Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Why is this 12th page story (if it even deserves that) so significant ? Just because it involved Italians ? Sheesh ... are we THAT bored ? Slow news day, jai yen yen. TIT

They did something illegal in presence of a stranger behind a door that didn't belong to them. If you get caught DUI, will you blame it on Thailand's massive extortion? I won't.

saintofsilence Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I have no time for drugs or drug addicts however there have been to many horror stories in Thailand where people have been set up and drugs have been planted. If they did the crime then they should do the time . My advice to anyone is don't be a dick head when you come to thailand keep a clear mind and dont get to pissed and just enjoy yourself. Drugs are evil.
PingManDan Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I can't believe this has happened, and in Pattaya no less! I am shocked! LOL

Ganja never killed anyone, it just makes people stoopid ..... but the rules are the rules ......... and when i see some of my friends being complete idiots , buying pot from motobike taxis, going to dicos with coke in their pocket, or worse bringing ash and extasy from europe ( even just a few ounces and pills ) i can't help but insult them .... i'm finished calling my police friends to take them out of the monkeyhouse ..... they are now warned .......
Chunkton Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I don't know, seems to be a lot of puritans out there. Most recreational drug users hurt themselves a bit, not others. It really is no big deal, what no one here from the 60's and 70's then? Add to that we know setups and scams run here, sometimes the accused haven't even done anything. Of course using drugs here is stupid but I can't see how people would be so miserable as to gloat about someone being busted by the coppers in a 3rd world country.

It really is no big deal, what no one here from the 60's and 70's then? No, they're all dead Add to that we know setups and scams run here, sometimes the accused haven't even done anything. I always hear that this happens, but never seen any proof, not in the 10 years that I'm here. Maybe I frequent too harmless locations.

HakimKlunker Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 ... So why dont al the farang that use drugs just go and fuc_k out of thailand back to there own country. All the farang how do stupid things in thailand make it more difficult for all of us who just want a normale life here... Off topic maybe, but I share your view. On the other hand: they already have their concentration camps (Pattaya, Phuket, and similar). It's maybe enough to put a fence around these places .

I'm not the only one then.. although I think Pattaya is more a ghetto than a camp. Phuket is a ripoff,.. and drugs are illegal. Why do we even discuss this? No coup going on?
Geckos Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 PEOPLE TAKE A PILL !!!! OR IS THAT ILLEGAL TOO !!!!!!! LOL
asiawatcher Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Usual stuff - extortion was not going to happen so the police had to report. It will cost about 1M Baht a head by the time they get out - the girl will fo course lose out big time as always - but yep, we really need more press for Thailand right now.
oops Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 3 Italian men, Thai woman arrested at drug party in PattayaPattaya, Chon Buri: -- Police arrested three Italian men and a Thai woman at a drug party in this seaside town less Friday night. They were arrested at a rented room in Southern Pattaya at 15 minutes after midnight. Police found 0.3 gramme of crystallised methamphetamine and 20 gramme of marijuana inside the room. The tourists were identified as Davide Migliorero, 38, Davide Tomasi, 28, and Caroselli Loca, 31. The Thai woman, Orwan Juminorn, 24, said one of the men took her from a bar on Pattaya Walking Street, where she works, to the room. They were charged with having narcotics in possession for abusing. -- The Nation 2009-06-20 The law says no drugs...I said No drugs.....OOPS ! isn't there a law against prostitution...?
sassienie Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Of course it was a setup. The perpetrators are always innocent and the drugs are always planted by those nasty policeman. Drugs are the scourge of society; hope these dregs receive the maximum penalty under Thai law. Let them leave their drugs back in the cesspit where they come from in their home countries. And for those who consider drug taking as a bit of harmless fun, should keep in mind that the powers that be think otherwise, so you lose, baby. Drug takers are losers, these arrests prove it.
foxyhooper Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 It is so easy stay away from prositude or just dont bring them with you and stay away from drugs. Drugs fuc_k up lifes for so meny people and will only make the mafia ore rich and stronger. So just kill al 4 of them.......Drug money and being used to buy weapen in the 3 world, so people who buy drung are guilty of all the killing in the 3 world. So why dont al the farang that use drugs just go and fuc_k out of thailand back to there own country. All the farang how do stupid things in thailand make it more difficult for all of us who just want a normale life here. Well you have and very good insight in the drug and arms dealings in what you call the 3 world. Can you tell what you class as a normal life in Thailand you hero.
Dap Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Thank you Thai Visa. This is incredibly entertaining on an otherwise slow Saturday evening. Waaaay toooo funny
Id68 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 1) Who says drugs are worse than alcohol, cigarettes, driving a motorcycle under the influence, contributing to the world of pirating, pornography, prostitution, the sell of prescription drugs over the counter ...Who is in a position to judge....Have you never done anything illegal? 2) It is illegal to drink and smoke in Thailand in public places...consult your local policeman. 3) Som Nom Na is not an answer..it's illegal in Thailand..as you obviously put your life in danger. 4) Prostitution is illegal so is pirating in Thailand...again consult your local policeman. 1) Who says drugs are worse than alcohol, cigarettes, driving a motorcycle under the influence, contributing to the world of pirating, pornography, prostitution, the sell of prescription drugs over the counter ...Who is in a position to judge....Have you never done anything illegal? i used to do all kinds of drugs and illegal shit in MY country , since i live in Thailand i behave because i know the risks , like everyone does , and i don't drive drunk , and i wear helmets when on a motorbike , i don't hire hookers anyway 2) It is illegal to drink and smoke in Thailand in public places...consult your local policeman. it is NOT illegal to drink in the street ( but i do not drink in the street anyway) and smoking is prohibited in restaurants , air cond locations, bars and bus stops , NOT in "public places". 3) Som Nom Na is not an answer..it's illegal in Thailand..as you obviously put your life in danger. yes SOMNOMNA is MY answer to people who put their freedom at stakes while they know the risks 4) Prostitution is illegal so is pirating in Thailand...again consult your local policeman. i never said it wasn't illegal , just that the risks of hiring a hooker and byuing a pirate DVD are not comparable to the risks of buying or using drugs so once again , in your self rightgeousness , what are you telling us? the poor guys were right to buy and use drugs? and we are all idiots except you because there are many other things illegal ? You are obviously not the brightest of bulbs are you...Plus you're getting frustrated at me for your inability to get your head round a very simple concept. So once more...again...and again: Quote you: "i used to do all kinds of drugs and illegal shit in MY country" unquote...You proove the point...You have absolutley sod all judgement to pass on anyone else. (BTW...You keep writing 'us' referring to who exactly? I'm guessing it's the other dense sods.)
OxfordWill Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 haha, like police would be trying to resell 0.3 g of ice and 20g of weed. Come on.
bravingbangkok Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 God Thailand really is so boring that they have to print this shii8t in a leading news paper. 20g of weed and .3 of meth is hardly a welcome back pablo party is it. As to the above comment, they will use the meth to get through the paperwork, it will probably take them a good few hours to explain just how they came across this particular place totally at random.

I have been in Kabul and meny other places so i have seen alot................. to much....... just like you hero
basjke Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I think we know it all long time already. If you get caught with using drugs they were planted by the bib. When you get a ticket for driving without helmet the bib just wanted to extort money from you. You got caught while driving the wrong side of the road because you were a farang. Get a life boys. You want to do something that is illegal in the country you are staying,up to you but deal with the consequences.

They were charged with having narcotics in possession for abusing. -- The Nation 2009-06-20 I've read this and I've got a strange feeling that Orwan was the one who made some baht. Pattaya, the "fun town"? Does that really mean that there's a drug party going on? One nose of speed for all..... And the pot was maybe the girl's business? Let me guess: The girl was a Kathoey in trouble to find some farlangs to get her (his) own shit covered? The story really sucks. Why are all drugs available on Ko Panghan? And nobody gives a flying shit? Because......................................................................... ....................
dominique355 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 The message is clear dont do any drugs in Thailand. Why is this so difficult to understand? That's not the difficult part. What is difficult to understand that with all the big drug problems in this country, the police makes a big fuzz about 0.3 grams of amphetamine in a so-called party. That's 0.075 grams per person in this "drug party". Ridiculous. Every cough syrup has more. We see every day hundreds of truck drivers, sometimes I suspect even Bangkok bus drivers taking these drugs and nobody gives a rat's a$$. So why this this story hit the news?
TGM Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 ...it's pathetic to read comments from some particular expats who just go ahead and assume things have to be the same way as they are in your home country..usually this wise ass attitude is the reason why locals seem to mistrust you...and then you go ahead and blame them for not being friendly or whatever reasons. wouldnt you get arrested in europe for doing drugs illegally in a hotel room?? And you know that Asia is harsher than spoiled europe when it comes to drug penalties. You may get a slap on the wrist in the UK or France for smoking a joint but here you got to pay....frankly. Who would rather have a record on paper, than paying a little bit to forget about it and learn from it to be smarter the next time you do it. As for how those cops knew. Sheesh...people talk!! Especially when you bring back a thai girl and its three whiteys next to her. People will talk and probably tip the coppers.....they see their opportunity to enforce the law (or make money) if you don't or can't pay, it will be in the news and a little plus on the record for the coppers. IF you can pay, you go home free without any noise...I gotta say its a fair game no??? My advice is to behave like you were back home...respective and smart. Thinking you can be all laid back just because its a sabai country will get you into some mess in the first place. Wanna do crystal meth?? do it alone or with a friend, smoke a jay? Do it privately and light up incense or some stuff... DO we halfies have to teach you everything on how things work over here? ps. sisaketmike is probably right, the "hooker" probably did tell the receptionist to call the cops coz she didnt wanna get gangbanged by 3 hairy italians. And thus, might get a thou or two for sorting this out. ...again, IF the farangs paid......money talks, everywhere....
denissr Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Why is this 12th page story (if it even deserves that) so significant ? Just because it involved Italians ? Sheesh ... are we THAT bored ? This subject has 4 pages, and I read and replied to you. I guess we are that bored. This story will help get the sagging tourist business back on track now that everyone knows the police have cleaned up Thailand. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
