Buying A Hard Drive On Line

Featured Replies

Has any one bought a hard drive on-line and did it arrive in working condition?

The computer shops round here (Krabi) are hopeless and a trip to Phantip is just not worth it so am looking to try on-line shopping. Any recommended sites that work and are trustworthy?

I've had a look at Shop4thai.com that seems quite good, any others?

Do they all need credit cards to make a purchase, I don't have one anymore, or can payment be made some other way/

I know the subject has been discussed many times but I wasn't paying attention :) and an update would be useful.

Thanks. :D

I've ordered drives and other components on-line quite a few times with no problems. They are generally packed well. Also, I use both Thanni.com and Shop4Thai depending what I need for those items. Thanni.com is usually a little cheaper but you can compare between the two. Have used both sites for several years and service is excellent (Shop4thai.com perhaps a little better).

Payment can be made by ATM transfer or on-line Internet banking which is pretty much the same as the ATM transfer just more convenient for me.

There is a pinned list of on-line shops and highlighted are the ones I have used and satisfied with.

PS: I would contact them by e-mail first to verify the item is in stock as their sites are not always up to date. Shop4thai is very responsive to e-mail while Thanni less so.

Thanks Tywas, Had a closer look at couple of sites that support bank transfer so that seems OK for me.

Where can I find the pinned list of on-line shops? - I know its going to be somewhere blatantly obvious :D

Jack D Hardly seems worth opening a PayPal account for just one purchase :)

For online purchases, on the list, I like Jedi Cool. Very responsive to e-mail queries--mostly higher end PC stuff.

Not on that list, I would like to add another:

TK Computer

also mostly high-endish and very responsive.

Goods are well-wrapped, small orders are O.K., payment by bank transfer accepted. (Both JediCool and TK Computer)

If you reside in Krabi, and happen to be in Surat or Hadyai--JIB Computer has branches there.

Hardware House has a branch in Hadyai as well.

I recommend doing purchases at the last two in person though, not online.

Now added to the list. Thanks for the link.
