With people leaving forums like LC all the time your soon going to run out of members here, and this Bedlam section will empty.

So can we suggest members, vote on them and get them brought in, coz it's easy to guage who is a good laugh and who is a <deleted> when you run through the main forums isn't it?

I quite like Jockstar and Lampards postings, seem like a good couple of lads, prolific posters, smart.

Who else would you suggest?

What's the benefits of using the different requirments for bringing people in here?

I know it's kinda overstepping my mark coz I been here for 2 days now, but just though I would make some suggestions about getting this place going.

It's like I been invited to a private party and everybodys already ######ed off home.

Look, don't mean to bore anyone here, but looking at your original list of members you have got some banned from there, some that have left, and probably have just 10 regular visitors to this section everyday.

I've got quite an interest in communtiy building and will be making a community myself soon, and have been reading a lot about it on the various sites so I have an interest here on how well this less moderated section works.

It's like a seperate forum here and I'm interested to see why it fails and how it can be rejuvenated.

Do people just lurk and not post?

But I think if it is the experiment I think it is about an un moderated forum a good group of people will show that strict moderation isn't necessary and we can kinda moderate ourselves.

It's not that it's "failed" as such, it's just that nobody really starts any topics. To topics that are started, they do follow a steady &lt;deleted&gt;-free flow.

The fact is that on the main forum, the majority of posts are started by newbies, trolls, lurkers - you name it. There's no opportunity to do it here.

Argumentative encounters? Take a look at the political dialogue between Boon Mee and p1p (and the rest of the world) All makes for decent reading though.

A few more reliable, trustworthy users, like you make out, and there's no reason why it couldn't be as active as any of the other sub-forums.

I remember Ajarn mentioned once that he considered it was "elitist" (or something to that effect) - I don't think so. I reckon a considered selection of users who are genuinely interested in dialogue keeps the topics with a bit more substance.

As I say, been invited to the party and everybody gone home feeling gets me.

I never really cared about the VIP room before, held no interest for me, in fact I got suspended in a chat about it at one point after 'a few beers too many posting'.

But I have been gradually taken more of an interest in community building and if nobody else wants to use it much then I will gladly play around with it and see how this whole community thing works.

I would ideally like to kick start the whole thing again in here, just to see what are the pitfalls of moderated/unmoderated forums? what are the topics that people respond to and what are not? Just for my experience and to use it in future really.
