After 30+ And Mood/body Changes

Featured Replies

after 30+ my mood is getting bad all the time, i feed tired and low energy.. did anyone else felt the same?

withdraw 10,000 Baht and head over to Soi Cowboy for the cure.

I believe the OP is a woman, Wasabi.

Mayuri:

1. Get your thyroid function checked (blood test - be sure they do a full "thyroid panel" and not just TSH). Hypothyroidism is fiarly common in women as they get older and will cause the problems you describe.

2. Other likely cause is related to the perimenopause, the period of time before actual menopause arrives. Hormone levels can flunctuate quite a bit for as much as a decade before menopause itself arrives. Try to observe whether there is any relationship between these bad moods and your menstrual cycle, many women start to have problems with PMDD (formerly referred to as PMS) during the peri-menopausal years, I did. If this is the problem, natural progesterone is very helpful. Low dose of SSRIs are alos very effective. In my case it was very severe starting from around age 40 and took a while before I figured out the relationship to my cycle. I got 85-90% relief from natural progesterone and sertraline. Once past menopause, the problem goes away.

:)

This could be the onset of a phsyiological disorder like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. You can get checked out at any foreigner hospital that has a behavioral health department.

Don't look for any kind of reimbursal though...these are hard to come by if it's deemed that your cause is "psychological."

(Actually we're moving more towards "physiological" these days for previously termed "mental conditions," just as we're moving Thailand away from feudal culture more towards a Japan-like techno-culture in which feudalism is virtually to non-existant).
