A friend in NZ called me today, asking if I wanted to go to the HKG rugby sevens.He actually owns a large freight company that I use for international freight. He said that he had free tickets and that I shouldn't miss out on this great 2 and a half day party in HKG as he and a few of his mates will be hitting HKG in force.I have never been before,but I know many people that have.They all say that it is one of the best party atmospheres that you can get.Apparently all the expats in honkers come out in droves,plus many people that travel from abroad. Many are not die hard rugby fans,but they just love the event. To be honest, I've been trying very hard to stay away from the dreaded amber liquid and didn't really need a "full on" weekend in HKG, so I politely declined. I never new how spineless I had become when my mate Phil came back with this."No, you don't understand. I have a two bedroom suite in a Hotel already paid for and your name is on the reservation, all grog is paid for,your flight has been reserved and is also free. Don't be a jerk and just say say yes.If you don't say yes I will be forced to take my wife!" I'll do anything to help out a mate.

Always wanted to go Hong Kong since I was a kid, I was hoping to make it a visa trip this year, I think you can get good deals on flights and rooms out in the BKK Post and probably on the net somewhere. It's got to be once of the best looking cities in the world, but I heard they changed the airport a few years ago. Before you used to be able fly through the sky scrapers on landing as I heard it. If you wanna get in the mood beforehand read one of the two James Clavell books about it, lots of history about the trading there to bore your mate shitless with and make him wish he'd brought his wife. Why haven't I got mates like yours?
February 17, 200521 yr Author I've been to HKG before, but never to the 7's tournament. Flying in thru the city at night 15 years ago was something I'll never forget.Just amazing. As for my mate, he's one of those guys that complains (Genuinely! ) that he can't spend all his money. What a bugger of a situation to be in.

I only read about it once before.
