July 1, 200916 yr Im currently in process of applying for a W/P. I have done all that is required eg - showed passport, medical cert, pictures of my home office and all the documentation for the application. I have now been advised by the labor Dept that my home office is not accepted and that I must build a freestanding office separate to my home. My question is have any other members experienced the same thing? My business is a distribution company and therfore dont need a freestanding office, my home office is more than enough. I have phone, fax, printer, photcopier and computer. Is there some sort of rule that i must have a freestanding office? Im aware of many businesses that have home offices. Appreciate any feedback or comments....Thank you

Appreciate any feedback or comments....Thank you I would suggest to you that the labour office has given you two alternatives 1. Build the free standing office as requested and get the WP 2. Dont build the free standing office as requested and dont get the WP As this is a goverment department you are dealing with think you should comply with the request, if you start to try fighting this, think you mad find "other" problems start coming up with your WP application...
July 1, 200916 yr Is there some sort of rule that i must have a freestanding office? Probably, no such "rule" at all. Should you comply with the "request"? YES.
July 1, 200916 yr Is your home address registered as a Co.Ltd.? If so you should not have any problem. You could always dedicate a section of the house (upper floor for example) as an office. opalhort

Perhaps have a Thai go there and inquire on his behalf. -- Maestro The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
