Best Place For Relaxed New Years

Featured Replies

Hi All

New to this forum so probably not posting in the right place Im sorry

Hoping I could get some advice from you 'locals' on here

Looking for a destination for New Years, I currently live in Bangkok and for new years my wife and 4 friends are coming to Thailand (6 total)

I'm interested in somewhere a bit more relaxed. Not really a full moon party scene, or a no power available scene. More somewhere in between. Some ideas below

-Snorkling areas or availability to get to these areas

-Surf beaches close by a plus

-Beachfront or close to of course

-I have heard western facing beaches are the best. Any comments on this?

So far we have only been to Hat Kata. And that seems a bit too developed. So hoping for something a little more low key but might be hard to find with the things I said above

Just looking for some suggestions of destinations people have been and liked. If you know of good accomodation also in your suggested place that would be a plus.

Any help appreciated

Thanks.
