Last weekend of the regular league...

The winner of Thursday's match will go into 2nd place, if Castleford lose in Perpignan on Saturday evening; the loser could end up in fifth place. If St Helens win or draw in Huddersfield on Friday night (2 am THAI Saturday) they win the League Leader's Shield

What a final weekend!

What a game that Wigan - Warrington game was. I've just watched the recording, and I'm still watching the Huddersfield St Helens game, but I can guess how it ends...

I thought that Walmsley was unfortunate - it was a good hard tackle, he was using his arms, and against a bigger man it would have been fine. But he caught the scrum-half on the head, and the referee had no choice but to send him off. Saints did well to hang on for an hour, but if Brough had been playing he'd have slaughtered them with kicks into space all over the field.

So can Castleford clinch the League Leader's shield tonight?

SC

Warrington Widnes in the first round of the play-offs should be a cracker

so you can guess how the the saints game went uh,that must be the longest 15minutes ever, score who knows.

thursday nights game sc.2players trading punches in full view didnt that warent red cards, then there was the incident where james laithwaite was stretchered off,the only replay was from a distance so you couldnt tell wether it was a shoulder charge or a fore arm smash,so shouldnt phil bentham refered it up stairs.

so is it cas.against catalan dragons today.as they up there in geordie land AWAY THE LADS.

The BBC web site has forgotten about Pettybourne's yellow card. I think 'Hitler' Wood was lucky not to have got a red card, but I think dangerous play is much more reprehensible than a bit of over-emotional exuberance.

I'm still watching the Hudds - Saints game, and I can't guess how it's going to end now, the suspense is killing me, despite having read the match report. It could go either way!

And the Warrington game is on at a more sensible time on Saturday...

I'll probably watch at home, as the pubs will be full of football hooligans at that time...

Probably best to treat the Astro schedule with a degree of scepticism, though, as their timings disagree with the BBC website for kick-offs...

The drama just gets greater and greater!

On Saturday Jarrow Vikings will meet holders, South West London Chargers, as they try to wrestle the Harry Jepson Trophy away from the Capital.

And a week on Thursday we see the start of the European Championship, when Scotland travel to Dublin; the winners of the tournament, which culminates in a Scotland - France clash in Galashiels, will play with the big boys in next year's Four Nations tournament

wolves vs the vikings.

the vikings came ashore under darkness and suprised the wolves who were caught napping.

all awhile the wolves were re-grouping the vikings half filled their boots and they thought thats it lets head home.

the wolves leader hooted and howled and got his pack behind him and began the assault.

stopping them half way they began to claw back what the vikings had gathered, stopping them as the shore was insight.

the vikings didnt know what hit them and all they could do was to fight them off,but as the wolves are known for their

fighting ability they ended up giving it all back to the wolves with interest.

in the assault one of the pack sustained an injury and hopefully he will make a full recovery and rejoin the pack.

meatboy reporting from the comfort of his home with his beloved from the wolf family.

sc.are you a wolf supporter?

And a Scot to boot, so I was doubly distressed to see Matty Russell stretchered off.

Ian Henderson had a great game for Catalans, so I'm looking forward to 15 October, when the European Championships start - I hope Danny Brough is fit by then

but before then - next stop Castleford

SC

EDIT: It looks like Matty Russell might be out for a while - he's lost some teeth, apparently, and unconscious for some time.

fri.morning bit of a damp squib.fell asleep 10mins into the second half.so its the wolves into the semi's.

It was pretty exciting for the first hour; and right to the end Castleford were playing their best.

Let's see what happens in Huddersfield tonight - I doubt St Helens will want to play Warrington

SC

Roosters v Bunnies was a fantastic game. Just got 60in Tv to watch these last few games. Great takles and some desperate tries scored.

Panthers v Bulldogs should be a cracker. Go the mountain men.

Should be a packed final; although a Dragons supporter, hope the red and green get up in the big one.

I've set that to record, whenever I get round to watching it, though I don't normally follow the NRL

well sc.giants vs dragons that had my eye's wide open, but i cant believe that the giants lost.before the end of the first half the dragons were running out of puff and fire.

second half when giants went in front there was no way they were going to loose, then we had one stupid high shot and that was it.so who plays who in the semi's.

what a player is danny brough.

I've got that game recorded.

I'm looking forward to Danny Brough in the European Championships, and I hope Matty Russell will be back.

I'll miss Lee Briers, though

SC

What a cracking game.

Two points in it at the end, and could have gone either way. I'm glad Danny Brough gets a couple of weeks's rest now, and I hope that it was just cramp with Ian Henderson.

Next week - St Helens - Catalans, and Wigan - Warrington. The eyes of the world will be travelling down the M6 and the East Lancs Road.

SC

Bloody typical, by the way - first Warrington game in ages that I could've watched live (0200 am THAI kick-off on Saturday morning) and I'll be travelling back from the mysterious Occident.

Panthers and Bulldogs, another great game.

Bunnies and the dogs next week. Clash of the Poms in the forwards. I am going for the Bunnies, should be a sell out crowd. Souths supporters have come out of the woodwork. Belmore was closed last night, everyone on the street.

No football tonight, getting withdrawals.

Now the cricket will come?

Who you going for, David48?

shocking display WHAT a shocking display by all three officials.

I'm in a pub in Pittsburgh - no, seriously , that's the name of the town... "Haway, dear, are you showing this morning's rugby league?"

Blank looks

"Saints Dragons?"

Blank looks

"Saint Helens v Catalans?"

Blank looks

"Super league rugby football league?"

'Football? Like this?'

"Whit? Fat-arsed blokes in tight trousers with no understanding of the offside rule or obstruction or....whoah - Forward pass, mate!"

Talk about culture shock!?

To be fair, rugby league could be amongst the top five codes of football in the USA, after American football, soccer, rugby union and table football...

did you see it SC. " WOW "

nice to see one of wales greatest rugby league players in the stand. BILLY BOSTON
