I am working on translating some Sek Loso (เสกสรรค์ ศุขพิมาย) songs into english.

This song is called เอาใจไม่เป็น and has a line in it which is giving me some trouble:

ก็เลยรับไม่ไหว คงดิบและเถื่อนเกินไป สำหรับเธอ

What I gleaned from that line was;

"as a result, (you) can't take it. (I'm) probably too young and too wild for you". The words in parentheses are the understood subject(s) of the sentences.

I know both the words in question; ดิบ - I've heard used with fruit that is not ripe to eat yet, and เถื่อน - I've heard used in something fake, or not real.

However looking up the words online I see that ดิบ can mean 'young' as in immature, which would go along with the 'not ripe yet' meaning as well. When I looked up เถื่อน I found it can mean 'savage', or 'wild' as in 'untamed', although I have never heard it used in that manner in spoken thai.

That is why I thought the phrase might be a thai idiom with a meaning like "too young and too wild".

Sometimes translating songs; which is similar to poetry in verse and often times uses idiomatic expressions and abstract meanings instead of straight forward conversation is very tough for me.

Thanx in advance.

Any help would be appreciated.

P/S: Here's the entire verse:

ฉัน...มันคนไม่เอาอ่าว

เธอ...ไม่ชอบเสื้อยืดตัวเก่า

ก็เลยรับไม่ไหว คงดิบและเถื่อนเกินไป

สำหรับเธอ

(edited to add the whole verse)
