Looking for a decent computer chair, if anyone has got one, please pm me with a price and a photo (if possible). Or maybe suggest a good second hand shop that might have one?

Requirements are

- Goes up and down. (Gas operated thingy)

- Is in reasonable condition

- Preferrably high backed.

- Back rest doesn't recline to much (or you can adjust how much it reclines)

I looked in a furniture shop the other day and they were around the 2000 baht mark for a new one, im not particullary wanting to pay that much for a chair so thats why im looking for a second hand one.

Also be very interested in renting one if that happens to suit anybody.

Thanks

Freddy, just a suggestion, walk around CM, look in all the internet shops that you come across, notice a vacant chair, go in and try it out. If it meets your requirements, try to buy or rent same. Next suggestion get one of the plastic chairs used at noodle shops, procure several bricks, adjust height and tilt via brick placement. You have a good one now.

Thanks slapout, I don't think ilve ever been into a internet cafe here thats had an adjustable height chair.

Brick idea sounds a like more fun than just buying a normal chair, but may not help my back to work for long periods of time :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Used chair shop at the corner of the San Sai road right by the San Sai market. Have car chairs there, but just passed it, and they have some computer chairs there too. Worth a shot if you're in the area.

if you can get a chair with those required specs at 2,000baht, you should seriously think about buying it. Otherwise, slapout's suggestion is a good one.

OK seriously,Driving toward Hang Dong at Big C on Hang Dong road, turn left back toward river. There is a fellow who sets up shop along the highway from the back of his truck. He sells computer chairs,( normally on weekends.) I would not make a special trip for this as the past month he has been kind of hit and miss on time. Maybe he found a better location to sell his wares.

Seen many in the superstores for under 1,000thb. I have a 700thb chair for 8 yrs now and a little wobbly, but still works. look in the office depot at pantip plaza for a large selection.....

Make sure you look over the chair good to make sure it's designed well and will hold your weight. When you buy cheap computer chairs in Thailand, they don't mean "Wal-Mart Cheap", they mean "piece of crap." I had a hard time finding one. I broke 3 1,000 baht chairs and finally handed over a chunk of change for a good one at Index Living Mall. So far it's a good investment considering I spend half my days in it.

These chairs are available everywhere in Chiang Mai.

All the supermarkets sell them, plus in any furniture stores, even seen them in some local markets.

Prices range from 600 baht up to about 6000 baht. No need to buy second hand.

Just take a stroll around all the stores, sure you will find something that suits your requirements and price.
