Thai Monk Needs English Tutor

Featured Replies

I'm teaching an MBA Business English class and one of my students is a Thai monk, living at Wat Po. His English level is very low, and he knows it. He would like an English tutor for conversation, probably some basic reading. I just do not have the time to do it - he'd like 2 - 3 hours a week. He is a really nice guy and is motivated. I do not know what the pay would be, I believe the Wat will pay, you'd have to work that out with him. He would have no problem discussing Buddhism, if you are interested in that. Probably best if you have basic Thai language skills. PM me if you are interested. Thanks!

UPDATE: it's one hour per week (Tuesday evening) he . the Wat has in mind 500 per hour.

Best of luck for you friend , I have a Thai Monk for a friend, he can speak English very well, in fact he will stop being a monk in 2 years ,That will be 15 years he has been a monk .Believe it or not he wants to go into politics ,(Thai).Last june I went to collect My friend, and 3 of his fellow monks , I was taking them back to a building that the locals thought was haunted, to do a blessing, all he wanted to know about was how Man Unt was doing,He is a very educated man, he often comes out with some sayings that make me really think ,I have been going to Thailand for the last four years for 3to5 months a year, the strange thing is that each time i go , I come back more chilled out, nothing seems to bother me, maybe thats the real Thailand coming through.
