CARLING CUP DRAW

Posted on: 12.08.2009

The draw for Round 2 of the Carling Cup will take place tonight, straight after the action at Coventry City, Macclesfield Town and Nottingham Forest.

32 teams are already through, including Port Vale who beat Sh*ffield United, Hereford United who saw off Charlton Athletic and Rotherham United who knocked out Derby County.

Six teams go head to head tonight for the final three places in Round 2 as Coventry face Hartlepool United, Leicester City visit Macclesfield and Bradford City travel to Forest.

The second round will see the introduction of 13 Premier League clubs, with those involved in European action exempt until Round 3.

Unlike the first round draw there is no north/south split at this stage, meaning Southend United could face a trip to Middlesbrough or Sunderland could travel to Norwich City but 25 clubs have been seeded, meaning they can't face each other.

3. Bolton Wanderers

4. Bristol City

5. Burnley

6. Cardiff City

7. Hull City

Would you believe it..

If ever there was a good reason to go back to that Cesspit that is East London, tne T*ttenham & Millwall at Home on the spin is good enough... :)

Tranmere v Bolton........... :)

I think we're pushing the proverbial **** uphill with a pointed stick.

Perhaps Barnsey has a secret weapon up his sleeve (Jeez I'm starting to sound like BJ with his dreams !)

Not a good draw for the Old Bill

Wall V Hammers, Cardiff v The Gas......................Oh dear.

Leyton Orient V Stoke too, surely couldn't be the same nigth as West Ham Millwall...

That's a 49-1 winner you've backed there,Singhy! I think you're already 'weighed in' on the forum predictions this weekend.

Fourth Round Draw:-

Blackburn Rovers v Peterborough United

Manchester City v Scunthorpe United

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton

Barnsley v Manchester United

Chelsea v Bolton

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Arsenal v Liverpool

Portsmouth v Stoke City

Arsenal and Liverpool seems to be the pick. Is Rafa or Arsene gonna play a decent side, or carry on with the young uns ?

Arsenal, Livepool, Man U and probably Chelsea will give the 'benchwarmers' a run out.

I would have thought Spurs v Everton would be the best match in theory - as both teams would see winning this competition

an important trophy.
