How Long Before I Can Return To Thailand?

I left Thailand on August 2nd, having been there since May 22nd. I entered with a 60 day tourist visa, which they extended at the Immigration Office in Jomtien until August 19th. Can anyone tell me the earliest date that I can return to Thailand, please?

15 days if you don't arrive by plane from another country.

If you get another Tourist Visa you can stay 60 + 30 days,

otherwise 30 days (visa exempt) at the airport

or 15 days at a land border.

Didn't I read on these boards that the limitless tourist visa renewal was going to be a thing of the past? Or was that just speculation on possible changes to come?
