I'm sure the answers given will prove me to be an idiot, but I have no idea where to post these comments.

1. On the main page of www.thaivisa.com, why is there not a highlighted area for login? I finally was able to logon......after much searching. Am I simply blind?

2. I just received my one year extension on my non-immigrant visa. The authorities have stamped more pages in 8 months than my previous 5 years of travel around the world. It's a US passport.....I'm running out of pages.....and I elected for the 40 page US passport (for a fee).

I'm shown as "extended" until Aug, 2010, but the stamps are so weak of ink, that I may decide to bring my own stamp pad back with me. Does it say that I "must" go to immigration to get a stamp for leaving the country, or may I simply leave for two months, return, and someone at immigration will be able to read the smeared pages?

3. I have an onward ticket to the US. Is there an option to purchase an LAX-BKK-LAX ticket from Bangkok, leaving the return open?

As to your question, about visa's you can leave when ever you want. But if you leave without a re-entry permit your permission to stay till Aug. 2010 will become invalid and you will need to get a new visa.

With a re-entry permit you would keep your permission to stay valid till Aug. 2010 if you travel outside Thailand. A single re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht a multiple 3,800 baht. Apply at yu immigration office.

Mario,

I'll have to find my revised post in the Visa section, if they made it there before I hit "post revised message", as there was additional info I added, but I purchased the multiple entry option and have the receipt. With this multiple entry.....do I still have to go to immigration before leaving?

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff. Glad you found us.

If you have a Multi Re Entry Permit obtained from Immigration . You can come and go as many times as you like up until the date in August 2010.

Do you have a stamp like this in your passport? The big red one.

Lite Beer,

I'm glad I was able to find you as well. I am struggling with this website and I feel just a litlle stupid. I revised my earlier post.....hit send....then received a message somewhere along the lines of "Error....you're an idiot" Okay, it didn't sya that, but I also asked about the chance of buying an LAX-BKK-Laos to get by any questions in the US. I'll throw away the Laos, but I asked if there are any agents in bangkok that could facilitate a BKK-LAX-BKK FROM BKK. I think that my post indicated a current onward tocket to the US...terminating in the US. Would love to hear how my mind can register a LOGON from the main page. Is THAT possible? I see your jpeg below.....I'll enlarge it.

Wait one........Will I get that nice triangle with "departed" at the airport?

Yep. Just go and return. When you return put the Re Entry Permit Number on the TM6 Arrival Card. Make sure they see it and stamp your Passport correctly.

Also remember that if you stay in Thailand for more than 90 days without leaving you have to report your address to Immigration.

Thanks,

I bookmarked it and it worked. But now I have to wake up to red shirts, yellow shirts, crackdowns on school uniforms, etc., instead of real news on CNN. Like Sean Penn's divorce. Or Michelle in short shorts. I should buy a second computer.

"Pages can be added to a US passport - and it is free."

Lopburi3,

Really? Where.....at home......or here at the embassy? Also, my query about R/T tickets for US-BKK-US purchased here in BKK should go to the.....I'm going out on a limb here.......the Travel Forum?

The embassy can do it for you.

As for your ticket, it is possible but of course for a price. As fas as Thai immigration is concerned you don't need a ticket out of the country. It might be cheaper if you just bought a one-way ticket and another ticket when you need, unless you plan to go back to the States within 1 year or so.

Bt the poeple in the travel forum will know better.

Any travel agent can help you with this.

Just remember that there will be a one year validity on the ticket, even for an open return.
