merijn Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I’m looking to buy a new bike. It should be something like a 400 or 600 cc Honda Steed/Shadow type of bike. I don’t care really if it is a Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha or Suzuki. I’m just interested in the model. ( big and fat ) I’m also looking at the HD 883 Sportster but the price a little bit to high. Normally it should be a new one ( or very young one like 1 year or so ). I understand that those bikes are not sold via the official importers ( what they told me ) but is there a other way to buy a new one with book and so on. All info is welcome.
soihok Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I’m just interested in the model. ( big and fat ) I like your taste.I like big and fat also. Dave Boo will give me hel_l over this post.......cheers Forget Harleys unless you like over priced , SLOW, agricultral machines. All depends on what you are prepared to pay for. State a price and I,m sure that you,ll get an answer for your money. Forget Harleys....too much money and not enough go.

I'm a real Harley fan ( had a few back home and i don't need to be fast ) but they are way to expensive here. I'm preparing to pay for a new chopper ( model like i mentioned before ) But i just can't find any around or nobody knows any price. The bike has to be with all official papers and so on.
ScubaBuddha Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 For prices and availablity in Thailand, check here: http://www.motorcycle.in.th/staticpages/in...ces-in-Thailand Be sure to check Triumph and Kawasaki. Maybe the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 for 461k? Or Triumph Bonnaville for 510k?
LivinLOS Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Or a good condition used steed 600 for about 120 - 150.. Steeds common enough you can get bits.. Just an alternative.

Travelmate Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Don't see anything in that link Fatbastard68. If it new you want. Better trot over to Kawasaki.
Richard-BKK Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I can recommend the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom, it is a very nice bike, the g/f has one and she gets more attention then me riding a Sportster 1200. The attention part can also be that she is a female and me "just" a farang on a bike, still the Kawasaki would be a excellent choice... 460,000 Baht some extra for full insurance and government paperwork (all been done for you) very good service. Upcoming alternative in the same class would be the Suzuki Intruder M800, only no final release date available...
alant Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 if you are in the north richco has a new sportster for just over 500k richco expensive they may be but they retain value well and i as a fat old b*st*rd dont need breakneck speeds on thai roads.

To each their own....although exception is taken on the low blow (concerning quality--I agree with cost) on the historic HD company.
