Arrived at BKK Airport last night after a flight from Pnom Penh.

Have Retirement Extension valid for another 11 months, plus a Multi reentry permit.

No excuse, but I was quite tired and didn't check my passport until later and found that the officer had put the normal 30 day stamp in it.

This is no problem in one way as I won't be here for 30 days!

Is there a problem having this expiring 30 day stamp, when infact on another page (which I had open with the arrival card when I handed it to her) there is my Retirement Extension and Multi reentry, still very valid in time? :)

You need to get it corrected as your retirement extension of stay is over if it is not. You did enter your re-entry permit information on the arrival card? Expect they will not check in any case. But if you do not change it the next time you arrive a sharp eye may notice and not allow the re-entry permit to be used. Best to take care of it now.

If he entered it as a 30 day entry in computer also, rather than just using wrong stamp, expect even more likely to come back at you.

Immigration at Suan Plu. They even have a special desk for stamp problems from what I have read.

Yes, I can confirm. I was there last week. They have a desk for stamp-corrections.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I was referring to the actual desk. Not knowing the 'insides' of the place I wasn't sure if it is hard to locate what one is looking for within!

It is two big "areas" on the ground floor. One is for marry/working extensions. And the other for lost passports, re-entries, tv-extensions

, 90 days report and corrections-stamps. You will find it easily. But probably first go and get the Q-tag right behind the main-door.

Just state your business and the staff will tell you how to proceed.

A desk dedicated to stamp corrections only ??....scary thought... :)

Yes it is scary but true.

All the more reason to double check you stamp before leaving the arrival immigration area.

Quite so U J

Well, good news to report back, was out of the place about 15 minutes after entering, went to information, got the desk number and a young lady fixed the problem in a few minutes. She also told me to check after leaving the desk at the airport in future and if any queries just to seek out a supervisor.

While standing at the counter a fairly senior Imm guy came over to me just for a chat, very friendly and told me they are all waiting anxiously for the move to Wattana. We shook hands and I was off!

Thanks to all.

Scary yes, but surprising no. Exactly the same thing happened to me as to the OP a fortnight ago. Fortunately I noticed in the nick of time & got the officer at BKK to make the necessary change there and then.

However, can your local friendly Immigration Office make the necessary change as well as Suan Plu if need be?

Yes they should be able to. But until you try you will never know for sure.

Not so long go there was a member who had a stamp problem and Pattaya immigration was giving him the run around about it. He ended up going to Bangkok.

Thanks, Joe. Clearly all the more reason for those of us living in the sticks to check our passports carefully before leaving the Immigration counter on arrival at BKK, I suspect!

goto immigration ASAP do not pass go do not collect 200

The only mistake i have had on my multi reentry is they cancelled it one time . Next time when i came back in the immigration looked at it and crossed out where the previous immigration had stamped cancelled :-)

Lop, you made a comment here that caught my eye. Where do you enter the re-entry permit info on the arrival card and what info do they want to see? Thanks

You write the re-entry permit number in the space where it says visa number.

If you leave it blank immigration will often assume you don't have a visa or re-entry permit.
