I was planning to leave from Penang (Butterworth) to Hat Yai by bus or mini van, then take the train to Surat Thani (it's at around 14:00) & then the ferry to Koh Phangan - Is this possible to do this in same day? I hear there's a night ferry is @ 23:00? Should I stay overnight in HY or ST and take the morning ferry instead?

Any suggestions?
