Removing Memory Card From Samsung Gt-c3053 Phone

I wasn't paying attention when I bought this. I can't figure out how to get the memory card out (not the SIM card) from fiddling with it and the tiny printed help sheet doesn't say anything about it. Any ideas? The memory card is in a covered slot on the left hand side of the phone.

BTW, I really like this slider phone and its got an attractive price point. You can put in an optional 1 to 8 meg memory card in it. I think it is standard SD memory. However, I do need to be able to put the memory in and out, it is currently in.

Didn't you get a user's manual when you bought the phone?

Many memory cards in phones and cameras can be removed by simply pressing on the card and let it go, it will then pop out.

No the sealed box only contained a one page quick (didn't) help document. There was no user manual. I did try to press in the card but it is deeply embedded in there (not sticking out) and that didn't do the trick. I also was expecting a real user manual, I guess that is a downside for the phone. However other than the card slot, there really is nothing that isn't obvious to me. I also considered there may be a software eject service from the phone, but negative on that as well.

May I suggest that the phone you bought could be a fake/copy one made in China?

Even Samsung phones come with a manual.

Have you tried to find the relevant manual online at the Samsung website?

Anything's possible. Is that really pervasive, copy Samsung phones?

The help sheet came with two versions, Thai and English. If it is a copy, it is a very good copy. The model is for Asian release only. I looked at the Samsung website but it was in Thai and I couldn't easily find any manual but I can always check again.

The sheet I was talking about is actually a fold out sheet printed on both sides. I just looked at it, it is called a User Manual. A lot of companies are skimping on documentation these days.

Press and it pops put works on my Samsung. :D

The manual is pretty limited. :)

Did I mention I was mechanically retarded?

Anyway, my first try at popping it out didn't work because I couldn't get my fingers in the slot properly. Then I tried using a pen point and that just seemed to be pressing it down further, it didn't pop out, so I was concerned I might damage the area. Anyway after reading opalheart's original suggestion I thought to try a small satang coin to get deep into the slot. Of course, it worked. Even then it was a little tricky to remove it as I had to grab onto a recess at the top of the card to finesse it out. Now, I've got it. Thanks to all for your help. Great little phone, BTW, I can't imagine getting more for the price.

Once a card has dislodged from the spring lock they usually just slide/fall out if you turn the slot side upside-down.
