Hi, this is on behalf of a friend.

My friend is a married to a Thai, UK citizen.

Where would be the best place to apply for a marriage visa in SEA?

Also, is there a consulate where my friend will need not show 800,000 B in an account?

There is no Marriage Visa.

Best bet for a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa is KL or Penang. This would give up to 15 months but would need a border run every 90 days.

For a twelve month extension from Thai Immigration he needs 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank or 40,000 Baht monthly income.

No such thing as a marriage visa. Does he want a non immigrant O visa? If so does he want single or multi entry? Single entry is fine if going to extend his stay at Immigration using 40k income or 400k in Thai bank account - multi entry is used for those unable to extend or frequent travelers and is valid for a year of 90 day stays. Can person show Thai account with 30-100k range in it?

1. I guess you need some kind of papers, letters or statement from the bank, or can you just show the bankbook?

2. Do you need a letter from the embassy who confirms that you have the 400'000 Baht in the bank?

3. Was it 2 month or 3 month prior apply for extention?

For an extension you need to have the money in the bank for 2 months. You need a letter from bank confirming the deposit plus copies of bank book.

You will need copies of your marriage certificate, wifes house book and ID card. Plus copies of your passport pages and TM6 departure card. You may need more than this but it depends upon your local immigration office. Check with them to see what they want. You also have to take you wife along with you.

You will have a 30 day wait period while they consider your application before they stamp the extension in your passport.
