C'mon guys. You are missing the point here. Is not about "selling" anything or exporting out of LOS. Is all about making it the number one spot for International Productions to come to spend their money. Truth is they've got here some great crews comparing with Europe and north America, also equipment wise they up to specs sometime a rip off, but hey your are farangs you got the cash.

As for what they might try to sell out of their "entertainment", be that TV, songs, Shows etc. they'll never bother with that because we all know where the money are....... with the people coming here not with the ones abroad.

Any way been here in the biz 10 yrs and wish them good luck, but under the circumstances is not gonna happen unless they start changing things and legislations.

Any way fun to watch them try :)

Thailand wants to become number one in entertainment business in Asia

They are already, I laugh on a daily base about how things happen hahaha

Don't they understand that as soon as you mention 'business' in Thailand the whole world knows that this means corruption, back handers, breaking the law, cheating the public and generally ripping off anybody who comes into contact with it.

Does anybody outside Thailand listen to Thai music, watch Thai TV or Thai movies?

Yes they do, Japanese are especially interested in the music, but I never met anyone who is a fan of Thai TV. I used to listen to Thai music all the time at home, as well as musical films. There are some good foreign websites on Thai music and film. Not everyone comes here for the cheap drink and girls, thank goodness! If anyone has never seen a good luktung or morlam concert, something Thai's do VERY well, then they don't know what they are missing.

yes I believe Tata Young did a tour in Japan a couple of years back

Tata is the only serious cross over artist happening. IMHO

She hasn't broken big in USA but has taken a preliminary shot at it.

Has had some success in Europe in certain markets,

She did quite well in India, with Dhoom, she has movie tie-ins and Japan too.

Korea seems to like her and the other Asia areas are catching on.

Not my type of music, but she is good at what she does.

No one else that I have observed is more than a basic blip outside.

Well, there is this nice Hollywood couple, the Green's, who can help them get this off the ground. Oh, wait, first they have to finish there jail sentences.

Oh, well, I am sure someone else will come along to help with this.

Tony Jaa the next Bruce Lee....

There are a good few movies that have been on the market worldwide..

bit off-topic.... but -

Bruce Lee was a legend already during lifetime and had a different fighting style compared with Tony Jaa .

IMHO Tony Jaa might be Jackie Chan's successor.

So, lets get back to the topic.... :)
